Greetings.

I just noticed something odd yesterday. I was playing the event all day with my GF, and we had pretty consistent cbill gains and matchscores.

We played clan mechs only. We became so proficient in getting points, that we already could tell if we would score a point or not just based on the damage we did..

As we finished all the non-CW modes, we moved on to quickly do them all again on my IS account..

Suddenly, we were in different mechs than the clan beasts we were used to, and doing a lot LESS damage... but our matchscores remained the same?!

So we analyzed.. and realized that when we play with IS mechs, we get a lot more "proximity protection", "protected medium" and similar matchscore components, despite playing almost identical builds, and with the same play style

So HOW CAN THIS BE?

Same play style, extremely similar builds... Clan mechs +50% damage, IS mech +50% "other rewards"?

Both added up to similar matchscore...

So, I ask.. are IS mechs keyed more to get higher matchscores from lower damage and vice-versa for Clan mechs?

Let me examplefy: (Same playstyle, almost identical builds and weight class)

Hypotetical drop in Clan mech: 300-ish damage, UAV fired at the "right spot", sticking to my lance whole match.. 200-ish matchscore. (very little added proximity protection rewards, protected light/medium rewards, spotting rewards)

Hypothetical drop in IS mech: 150-ish damage, UAV fired at the "right spot", sticking to my lance whole match.. - 200-ish match score (amply added proximity protection rewards, protected light/medium rewards, spotting rewards)

So why the added "infotech" rewards for IS mechs only?

Does anyone else get this? Can someone else test?

No.
There's no "similar" loadouts for IS and Clans. Clans has overall far better techbase, mobility, weapons and hit profiles, which makes them easier to play independently from the rest of your team. All interactive bonuses are given in very specific circumstances, and there's no considerations for what mechs you're using in any of them.

In order to play IS mechs to a similar efficiency level as Clan ones, you're bound to rely on your team more, which means that you're usually end up sharing both burden and benefits. You're getting more interactive bonuses, but you deal less damage as result. Trying to actually perform in Clan fashion while in IS mech can only result in you getting plainly wrecked.

Well I understand that you would think so, but I can honestly say that I similarly behave in both IS and clan mechs. Similar distance from lance and team, similar focus firing, similar UAV usage, similar blunders, almost identical weapon loadouts (with classic Clan Vs. IS differences), even similar play strategies..

I understand that clan mechs simply do more damage, so when I say "similar loadouts" I mean same loadout but IS and Clan version of loadout..

So even though the behaviour and play style are basically identical, difference in "interactive bonuses"..

Clearly, significantly lower efficiency level in IS mechs, but offset by the interactive bonuses, resulting in similar matchscore..
