I want a Star Citizen style Hangar for my 12 selected mechs (in another "hot/ready" tab).

While that would be nice, I think that PGI has a lot more important stuff to deal with before committing assets to "fru-fru" stuff like that.

For instance...I'd like to see them optimize this website so it wasn't so freakin' slow, didn't cause double posts, etc. It's really slowing down my complaint to post ratio.

RC - ruined by players that can't be bothered to fight anywhere but the citadel.
FC - ruined by players that can't be bothered to fight anywhere but the H9ish area.
CV - actually agree, the old one was nicer looking and the new one has way too much **** that stop movement. Major problem is still that players can't be bothered to fight anywhere but the caldera.

Standard maps really aren't too terrible on the design, a lot of the problem across them is that the players refuse to fight anywhere but a central location instead of making the matches interesting themselves. Your perspective on the matches would entirely change if players would just break the habit and do something different.

Map design dictates default player behavior. Map usually play out the same because average mech speed, cover placement and spawns all remain constant. Players all move forward from the same spots, and then make contact at the same spots, and then go into favourable cover. If spawn points were random or if there were a few variations on spawns, maps could play differently in most games.

So it's not players fault really, just questionable map design and spawn choices.

Eh - I want the mechbay to be as simple as possible for the speediest possible workflow. I say, go to a 2d simple smurfy mechlab, but add a module like the one in forza where you can do a "walkaround" with different paint, etc. That way, people who want to go look at stuff can do so, but when I'm waiting for someone in my group to finish up in the mechlab I know it's going as quickly as possible :P

On the contrary - it's not the players fault for gravitating toward certain features, it's the fault of the map and spawn design for not incentivising them to fight anywhere else. They gravitate toward the center of the map toward the location that is most conducive to peek-a-boo tactics, and stagnate. If there were more valid alternatives, we'd see more variety.

Some already wished for that

I'd like a star citizen style hangar
Hell you could have it underground in new river city

Leaving to the map itself as a training grounds
Defend it against waves of AI mechs, tanks
Could invite friends for that as well

In a way I'd hope PGI would go for it
Could open a new avenue for $'s for PGI besides mechs; rewards for players and wouldn't distract too much from all the coding that still needs to be done in MWO

They could probably recycle loads of ingame assets to build a hangar

I like the idea of "walking out" of the bay and directly into training grounds..

That would be very cool and immersive..

The more extra stuff the better - there is not enough (ok any) cool features around the Mech, pilot, hanger, dropship whatever........
