This is a ridiculous change. Roll back to the previous state, please, so that we can play again. I want both my maps and modes back.

i have to agree.
im a big fan of conquest mode and i get like 1 out of 20 matches in conquest.
while map queue times havent changed much at all.

i would rather wait my turn than play something i dont want to play.

Come to think of it, this is just all a real live voting experiment, in-game built, you cant escape it. PGFI will analyze the data and delete all non played maps and game modes, and we get only 1 type and map after next patch, saves resources making new maps etc, so they can focus on making more mechs we need to pay for with real money. Oh wait, there will be no one to buy those...
Seriously,I encourag everyone to DC from a game when your voting choices are not met. Sit out the penalties (i'm up to my 5 minute penalty), when you hit 20 minutes, close the game and watch some tv, hug your wife or girlfriend (or both), read a book, do some cleaning, gardening, shopping, take a dump, pick your nose, ****************, .....

Edit: just got conguest agan while typing. 10 minute penalty.

There is no map selection. If Frozen City is present it wins. If not, is HPG Manifold present ? Yes? That's what you get. If skirmish is among the game modes choices it wins...every time.

While I actually don't miss Viridian Bog at all but in my opinion Frozen city even more boring.

Actually, Frozen City, HPG Manifold and Mining Collective and Alpine Peaks should always go against one another that way Caustic, Canyon, River City and Crimson Straits would stand a chance at seeing some play time.

The idea is sound over all but it is far from perfect right now. They need to encourage other choices.

Personally, I would prefer random map AND mode for the sake of variety. I am not sure how long I can stand playing the same 3-4 maps and modes ad nauseam.

At least this way, everybody sacrifices something and not just those who like the less popular maps/modes and we get some variety.

what scares me is, if PGI fails to listen to us, they are going to permanently remove hot maps, conquest and skirmish and then the category 10 poo storm will start. PGI you have GOT TO LISTEN TO US FOR ONCE

I'm finding it ok. Not getting as many conquest or terra therma or viridian bog games as I'd like, but have got some. Wait times maybe a bit shorter but not really sure.

I never pay attention to the current meta, and the idea of choosing a loadout or mech and then deliberately picking a map/mode to suit never crossed my mind. I haven't noticed the people shooting at me being much tougher than before, but then again I'm pretty terrible.

I do not really participate in discussions in gaming forums generally. Still, in this case, i just feel like i have to make a clear statement.

I have played three or four games since the implementation of the voting system. The result was like expected: cold maps, skirmish. No surprise.

This system has taken away the variety. Like in all games with a voting system, only two or three maps remain (i pity the map designers who have spent hundreds or even thousands of hours to create a map that is not played for some reason, but that's not the topic).

Why, exactly, do i own more mechs of one kind, despite i need them to level to the module slot? I could just fit them with laser vomit meta builds. Other builds became obsolete.

I will not support this game anymore with money. Probably i will not play it anymore, until my preferences of maps (i want to play them all!) and game modes (i want to play them all!) are respected again. And don't bother me with democracy in this case. I am a customer. A paying customer. The offer has changed without even asking me and i am not willing to accept it under these conditions.

The new system took the fun from me - i take away any further payment. That's my way to vote, my way to show how i feel about it.

...i turned a little bit more emotional than intended while writing it, but i just couldn't help it. ;)

The idea of map and mode selection to me sounded like a good idea but in practice it is broken. Cold maps dominate and although I like skirmish, you would be lucky to get conquest. I prefer to play all maps and all modes. If you are just popping on to play a couple of games then it might be OK but if you playing a lot of games then the same maps gets very boring. please remove the map and mode selection and dump it as not workable.

Map and Mode voting will now be weighted.

Each time a player votes for a Map or a Mode that does not win, their vote weight for the next time goes up by one (maximum vote weight is 12).

Each time the player votes for a Map or Mode that wins, their vote weight returns to 1.
If a player does not vote for a Map or a Mode, then the weight for that category remains the same.
For groups, now only the group leader votes. For anyone that is in the group but is not the leader, the Map and Mode buttons are disabled. Also the Map and Mode selection of the leader will be seen on the other group members screens. The vote weights of the leader will also be seen on the group member's screens.

Voters are now allowed to rescind their vote by clicking again on the item (previously they could only change their vote to another selection).

Percentages are now based on the votes cast rather than the total number of possible votes (e.g. if only one person has voted, then the percentage would read 100% rather than 4%).

Change it to read that the most hated maps and modes are getting no play, remember we do not get the option of all available maps and modes at the start of each match. This holding and or roll over of votes means that we will get STUCK WITH MAPS AND MODES THAT ARE UNDER-BOOKED NOT WHAT IS WANTED.



Bad short sighted choose here.This is not a fix and is a lame trick to pull Halloween is over.

This is not a solution! This is a bit silly. What are the chances now of getting Terra Therma Conquest Mode? Will the chance really be equal now to the one that was before?

I have seen Desert chosen a few times and it is nowhere near as hot as Therma or Caustic. Hey PGI, if you guys actually read these post 'not' we are trying to tell you this voting crap is a bad idea and needs to be removed...and forgotten. You tried this before a few months ago (you know it's the same thing.) Did you not hear, or remember, the anger from us after that failed attempt? I don't mind a little longer wait time for what I choose to play. I just Alt+Tab out, do something else, and wait for the flashing icon. But, I DO mind waiting about the same amount of time for a game mode that I HATE TO PLAY! Plus now I have to spend the whole wait time watching the 'hypno-swirl' or else I'll miss my vote and get stuck in a game mode that I HATE TO PLAY. Please put it back to the way it was.

And hey, maybe the wait times would get better if you stopped pissing-off you customers and driving them away?
