So... map voting is here. I like how PGI implemented it. It is pretty nice. My only wish is some sort of sound or flashing border to notify the game is starting for us that are alt tabbed. But that's minor. What the voting does is give PGI a tremendous opportunity!

The people get to vote!

What PGI needs to do is carefully tally the votes. Record every drop. See which maps are popular... and see which ones we hate.

Then, after doing this for a period of one or two weeks... FIX THE ONES WE DO NOT LIKE. :)

Imagine, for a moment, the maps we hate... being fixed. Imagine... the perplexing situation we might be in... if they are all good. Wouldn't that be neat?

Listen to the players. We are speaking.

So far I'm noticing a few interesting things...

a. We hate the new maps like Forest Colony, Bog and Caustic. Hmm... could it be... because the visibility is awful on them?

b. Some group of players like Alpine. This is strange.

c. Conquest is winning more often than I would expect. Hmm.

We can learn a lot from this. And to prevent the game from stagnating to one map as it invariably will... fix the ones we hate to keep the game... the players... happier.

yet another of the masses not realizing that "The people get a vote!" actually translated to we have less choice in an already limited and dull environment.

Whatever they can do to squeeze another dollar from the mindless masses.

p.s. your icon for MWO in the toolbar flashes blue when the round starts and your alt tabbed, so much for improved waiting times PGI, people still alt-tab due to excessive wait times.

Durrrrrrrrrrrrr. Did you even bother to read my post?

My post was about fixing the mindless masses from picking the same map over and over again... Go play some wheel of fish.

What do the masses want?

Pinpoint-easy-click-and-shoot action from one (and preferably only one) location.

What does a MW fan want?

Spread damage, cover, lots of options to engage.

What would we get with all this you suggest?

Flat and cold maps.

No, thank you!

Umm... most of the maps that won last night when I played were not flat and cold. Alpine won once. For the most part, HPG, Frozen City, Tourmaline, Canyon and Crimson Strait were the most popular...

Good idea by the OP, +1. Hopefully PGI is tallying all the votes for statistics.
