voting for maps seems like a good idea; and it WOULD be a good idea.

if it weren't for the fact that we have a mechlab, and you put your weapons on your mech etc BEFORE you go into a map.

so choosing the map that favors your build is a real legitimate problem here.

ITS NOT LIKE THIS IS COUNTERSTRIKE AND YOU BUY THE WEAPONS YOU NEED IN GAME.

it seems the developers completely forgot there was a mechlab and that the popular weapons/loadouts would dictate what maps we all play on.

this is why the voting for maps thing doesn't work in this game

What you COULD do is have a map selector filter much like the game mode and server filter which USED to exist.

Then you could syncronize your mechs and loadouts with your battlefield, as proper mechwarriors are wont to do.

this sync isnt even what battletech lore is about, most of the stock loadouts are multi range -
the game should reward players who play multirange builds instead of letting us put 11 lasers of the same range on a gargoyle and just click one weapon group to kill. that's call of duty, not mechwarrior

it might be harder for newbies to manage 2-3 weapon groups; but it will make them also not turn a corner and get hit with 11 small pulses and explode in record time

IMO people who really want to sync their loadout with the map are plain bad players who don't want to prepare for eventualities

I mean, if you can pick your battlefield, then you can pick your proper loadout, and just drop there; then change up your loadout based on your battlefield.

The game should reward you properly for sound performance.

Commander A9, but, heres the thing, you go into the vote not knowing before hand what the map or mode will be, and thats a problem. Worse yet is, the constant skirmish bouts. My last pug match shocked me twice over. Not only was it bog, but it was assault, not only that, skirmish and frozen city were options!! In the end my team lost because, second shock, the enemy played the objective of capturing the base!! shocked me! rare is it that I see not only an assault happen but see the first objective of capture the enemy base happen. but, this changes nothing, that more often than not, its a cold map and skirmish.

I found nowadays Assault Base cap tend to happen more often.. Think conquest people are confused... LOL.. :P

Seriously... Though...somehow need to find ways of manipulating the team into preventing caps rather than running away at the first sight of the enemy team.

ShinVector, I prefer Assault and Conquest to the back hatch probing that is Skirmish. If I wanted mindless death matches, I could turn my PS4 on, re-install BF4 and have at it. I play MechWarrior for objective based play, and now the simpletons that refuse to learn how to play this game tactically <read: with more thought than if it moves its getting shot> are destroying it with the forced skirmishing on the coldest available matches.

My personal gripe with conquest is that.. It is very hard form into a winning team.
If Conquest was the only game mode it would be fine.. But too likely the majority likes their mindless death matches.

I find it hard to enjoy objective based play without a real team though..
