My mind was thinking a stock mode would be best intro for new players. Seeing as thats kinda ALL they have, is lighter on fromage, and has been asked for since CB.

Was surprised to come back and one still not be in game (Im always hopeful and secretly enjoy being let down)

edit- I agree, this game feels better at 4v4-7v7.. tru tru

With small groups it would be easier to match new players with other new players so might offset.

Yeah, I suppose doing this during the cadet time wouldn't be a bad idea. Easier to fill with just new players . Would mess up the cadet bonus but that wouldn't be too hard to fix.

But I would like to keep as much of the 4x4 stuff to CW because it really does need the help.

I'm against further dividing the pool of players. Yes, I like 4v4 but I don't like the effects it will have on the game queues.

More game modes for the main queue in the game would be better in my opinion.

For the solo queue, I would set it for random and it could not be opt'd out. There will be times you drop in a 12vs12, next aa 4vs4/6vs6/8vs8 or whatever flavor PGI wants to use.

This should be implemented about the same time as the Steam launch IMO.

I just got done dualing & 2v2 in my unit and that was a blast! A 4v4 & a 12v12 should be in game when Steam hits. The hopeful influx can make up for splitting the que. At the least that 4v4 CW mode must be added before Steam.

Random could be a temporary thing until Steam hopefully boosts the population.

+1

The game is much less chaotic for a new player in the 4v4 mode, he has to be aware of what his 3 (and not 11) team mates are doing. And he can survive to mistakes and keep playing, while in 12 v 12 making a mistake usually means an insta-death.

I would prefer 4 man drops over the 12 man cluster<bleep> moshpits.

Except in 4 man drops the loadouts matter more. Chances of having 4 players with nothing but LRM increase.

Well 4vs4 CW can be the 4vs4 mode. Question is should they guide new players to it as a starting place?

Anything would be a better starting place than CW, lol. I see far too many newbies in CW. Pgi really ought to try to guide them a smidge better.
