Piranha, in later revisions of MWO may you provide us with the professional app. It must be free, be highly contrasted and user friendly. It'd also be nice if we could keep an eye on our friends, our garage and latest clan battles. Could it come with that pretty yellow like in our on-screen HUD, and greet us with an animated "System online" startup theme whenever we launch the app? Please, every game developer MUST NOT forget the future of gaming. Everything is cloudbased, if you don't run something on mobile devices you get run down. Also an "InterSphere News" ISN app would be cool. Make it feel like we're living in the year 3000 instead of boring 2012. Use all the themes and slogans of the Mechwarrior saga. Wallpapers, themes.. alot of extra digital content that will provide very much needed exposure to a dying (or perhaps just comatose) classic of game.

This would be really nice, but i'd rather them focus on making the game good before the perks and bonus addon things like apps start coming out. It would be great to see this though in the future sometime though, nice suggestion ;)

Exactly! Mechwarrior needs to try new things in order to continue being a series. Free2Play was already a very smart business decision to lure those who have never actually played a Mechwarrior game before. Now Piranha needs to add additional media exposure in order to gain more players. We're not just rooting for Piranha but the whole Mechwarrior series. It has been a whole decade since we've plundered an owens in our Atlas's. It is time for Piranha to do everything in its power to widely market this little gem to an unsuspecting gamer who's never grew up playing such an amazing title. Digital markets are the way to reach the masses. Lets home Piranha can see just how important this is

Those that have smart phones and ipads are a miniscule amount of the playerbase I'm sure so it would be better to bring the mechlab to the forums instead.

I beg to differ. Smartphones account for the people who have the specs for this kind of game. Considering its fairly demanding it's safe to assume that those who afford a PC capable of MWO might be able to acquire a smartphone. I'm no expert on statistics but this isn't easy on system requirements so its reasonable to agree that most of MWO players have a "Smart device" How does this not count as a good suggestion? World of tanks has an app.. but its pretty bad *cough* XD

Smart phones and Tablets make up quite a proportion of the player base; tech aware, older individuals.
There is nothing to say that the app has to be made in-house; quite easy to farm it out and concentrate on the game.

I quite like it, updated with the news, unit movements, win\loss stats and such like. could be quite fun.

How does the mechlab come to the forum? I don't understand how that might work.

Mechwarrior debuted as a boardgame back in the 80s. I can argue that alot of MWO fans and players are of generation X. Mid 20s and late 30s range. Mechwarrior goes back quite a while and the folks who are attracted to COD or battlefield are simply too young an audience. Folks like myself.. I'm 21, but I believe my age group compared to the Mechwarrior fan average is still largely minuscule compared to those who actually grew up with Mechwarrior.

The mechlab I'm proposing is the mechlab we know and love on our PCs but with an added twist that is to be optimized for touchscreen input and more gratifying onscreen animations to make things much more interesting. Being able to customize, repair, rearm, and purchase mechs while your away is a pretty no-brainer idea. Slide ammo into available slots, swipe the screen to move the camera, informative but not sorely complex amounts of data about your mech. Straightfoward, and gets to the point but not simple where it'll ever get boring to be in the mechlab all day while your away from home. That is how it relates to a pretty good suggestion to be forwarded to developers for a decent evaluation

It would work just as it does in the game, just a speacial section within the forum, you go clicky-clicky and there you have your mechlab.

I see no real problem with that...I just don't know why you wouldn't just launch the game instead?

I'd be for this.... Heck if it cost 1$ to 3$ I'd get it. You could use it while your away or in addition too...

Or make the player/game results accesble via an API so other people (those under appreciated, dedicated players/fans ;) ) can make such an app (without the game intereactive features an "official" app might contain).

Please PGI? Please to the players/fans to create something like that, if possible, too?

Hey look, it's the 8th thread suggesting a Mechlab Mobile App in the last month. If only there was some sort of way to search the forums to see if this had been discussed ad infinitum before.

everyone I know has a smartphone/tablet, an app would be a great addition to this game, it adds a bit extra, heck I have kept playing some mmo's just because they had an app, it doesn't have to be free though, I don't mind paying a reasonable amount for the app

Planetside 2's tablet offering is quite impressive. A MWO app to keep up with what's happening in the persistent world and allow easy comms with other players would be great!
