So now its forbidden to play a Locusts and hence forbid taking a wrong turn and getting rekt
by all that high alpha GG wp GM team.

its apperently Mech Suicide Abuse according to the mail i got!!!

Last time i know of a SCOUT mech SCOUTS with 16 max armor and 40 points of pinpoint damage coming at it i dont see any problem xD?

- More like some immature *HonorableMechwarrior* abusing the report function. They should be forced to play a not Leveled no ECM locust for 200 matches!!!

Same as Playing a skirmish and then as last light trying to survive and getting Team treasoned
multiple times. The light is obviously a douchebag and needs to be reported for Non-Participation Abuse since he choose after beeing cored and having 25%health not to suicide like all the sheep. Right. Since that *HonorableMechwarrior* needs the same mech to faceplant it because he has no other modules and because the light obviously WANTED to play skirmish .

Russ wants e-sports, the e-sports crowd tend to play COD and similar games so this kind of thing was to be expected. They'll report players just because they feel like it, no real logic behind it.

That post, OP, was very difficult to decode. What I glean is that you got smacked by a real humdinger of an alpha, didn't feel like playing the snowball-in-hell game, and got smashed. Nobody could have blamed you unless you went in the comments and said "I'mma go do suicide". That may have been what invited the report threat.
Still, that is a pretty stupid report. Don't worry about it; you shouldn't get banned or anything. Just keep playing the angry little bug mech! I love my locusts, even despite the fact that I don't even get a shot off in about 5% of my matches.

If you don't like being super-vulnerable, I ask: Have you bought the 3V variant? It has massive armor buffs- I've taken dual Gauss to the face in that mech, and kept chugging! It's fun and has serious range with its (two) medium lasers.

Just because people say they report you don't mean they do. Remember that people don't have to tell you if they report you, they only do it because they feel empowered over you so ignore them.

I used it to scout with basic skills and STD equipment naturally i cant perform like an XL fully pimped Locust
anyway and i only planned to keep the Phoenix version anyway and sell of the other 2.

I had great games with the best equalising at 3-4 Kills 300 Damage in a Skirmish.
Locust dont belong in skirmishes anyway it was a pain to level it after they introduced mapvoting.

Tbh the Cod crowd comment totally fits the bill here.

Is that why they're testing structure and armor quirks in the PTS? Making people lock on to get maximum range of lasers. Increasing the cooldown on Gauss?

If you're legitimately attempting to level locusts and just sucking eggs repeatedly, you need to reevaluate what you're doing. I happen to love my locusts:

well how you disengage if you accidentally bump into the enemy with an 160STD without speedtweek? disengage with paper thin armor and the scouts killing you in the back or push trough and try to get the mainteams position so you can atleast
give some scouting data and minimal XP maybe even splitting there team ala SQUIRREL?
Is it my fault that the SCOUT bonus is given for the first mech that sees it instead of the Light mechs?
Is it my fault that the game punishes players that invest less in there mechs?
Is it my fault that PGI wants you to spent unsums into your mechs to be on a even playing field?
Is it my fault that PGI wants you to play alot to get XP for the skill tree to be on a even playing field?
Is it my fault that PGI wants you as a scout Pilot to play Skirmish?
I certainly think not.

You're still running 130kph without speed tweak.

Take a 1E, drop about 2mil CBills on it and you'll have this.

And OMG, I did it again.

Are you even trying? Or are you sui-scouting, dropping the match, then hopping into another mech?

I also have a feeling you don't often pilot lights to begin with because even as someone that is predominantly a light pilot, lolcusts aren't easy.

If you want help on how to properly pilot a locust, I'll gladly help (because once you get the hang of it, you'll love them). If you're here to ***** because you got reported for sui-scouting, then you're up **** creek.

I think he was not "suiciding" so much as simply being pin-point one-shotted too often.
He's also complaining about the grief and abuse he gets for surviving.
It is clearly against the terms of the game to report an ally's position to the enemy, and yet he claimes lights often get reported.

My experience is, yes, I get one-shotted now and then, but that has little to do with the meta-du-jour. There will always be at least one gun or a pair that can single-shot a light.

I have seen hundreds of Lights be the last Mech alive against a large team. I have seen them take more **** than any other weight class for "not playing the game right." What I have not seen is an active Mech, who is actually doing something--even just running away or powering down now and then--be "treasoned." In over several thousand games, I have never seen an actively playing mech have it's location called out.

But that's just my two cents, and when Steam gets MWO, and even more COD/LOL style players drop in, I am sure my tolerance level for anti-social chat will be passed and I'll have to find a more friendly game again.

edit: I could be wrong; he could be justifying suiciding. In which case I disavow myself of any support.
My final advice: Buy an Arctic Cheetah. Whenever your light plight gets you real down, take it out for a spin. it is SO FUN being able to impact like a Heavy, at high speed, now and then. It'll turn that frown upside down!

Playing a Locust versus laser boats is pretty ******* difficult, without jumpjets you're basically walking dead to anyone who can alpha you accurately across your torsos.

That said, there are a couple of LCT variants that can really pwn if you play them correctly and try to avoid getting alpha'd. The LCT-1E in particular has fantastic quirks that allow it to either boat 6MLs (medium range poker/hit'n'run) or 6SPLs (hit'n'run/circle brawler).

Compared to some other lights most LCT variants are pretty good. They'd be a hell of a lot better if they could equip 1 jumpjet though.

I seriously doubt you were just "scouting". With the quirks and Acc/Dec I bet the OP was brawling. I have yet to see a Locust just scout.

LCT-1E with 6x ML+XL180+11DHS is pretty damn close to god-mode, and actually is god-mode if there are no lights capable of ambushing and chasing you down. It is hard to deal with 30 points from 365 meters that keeps changing firing angle, even when you've got a 52+ hit-scan alpha to respond with.

And all of the Locusts are actually serviceable. Want to learn how to get good as a light pilot? Drive any Locust and equip it with short-range builds:

4xMG+1xMPL on the LCT-1V
2xSRM2+2xML+XL190 on the LCT-1M
6xSPL+XL190 on the LCT-1E
4xSRM2+1xSL+XL180 on the LCT-3S
2xMG+2xMPL+XL190 on the LCT-3V
5xSPL+XL190 on the LCT-3M

Grit your teeth through your inadequacies and some of the game's imbalances while you learn, and eventually you'll be sending lesser Light pilots in better 'Mechs running for the hills.
