Hello everyone :)

Love battletech have played table top and the computer games for years, I went with legendary as well to help support this game as I think it can only get better and better, cant wait to play it B) all 4 mechs will be useful if you play to their strengths and guard against their weaknesses, like any mech. Not a big fan of the jenner's looks though lol true that the atlas is one of the more iconic battletech mechs for sure. looking forward to stomping around the game soon, see you all there Mechwarriors.

I like all 4 as well... but my reasons for going legendary are partially because of the founder mechs, but mainly to support MW:O as I have faith in the rebirth of this franchise and want to support it any way that I can. (Plus the founder mechs don't count towards your mechlab cap :)

Like most of us, I have my favorite Mechs from previous gaming experiences. Who can deny the commanding presence of the Atlas on the battle field? Or what about the stealthy hit and run tactics of the Jenner or Raven using radar to pinpoint locations for the Catapult's LRM's or long range sniping energy weapons. And what about the advancing front of the Hunchbacks and other medium to heavy mecc on the front lines...
That's why to support PGI and MWO and have a choice to play all the Classic mechs I chose to be a Legendary Founder.

I chose the Catapult as my founders mech... Much because It is a Heavy mech and it has a medium to long range capability and is a fire support mech... I believe I have some smaller adjustments to the mech when the game starts, but I have to look at the config first... I have been playing BT since 85... :)

I couldn't decide what mech to choose either, went for the legendary to get all four and have the chance to farm currency at a decent rate while I learned the weight classes and what not of those four mechs. Not to mention progressing in the prime mechs with exp.

I chose the Hunchback and it's fairly simple why.

I don't like/have any interest in the Jenner.

I like and use the Catapult but that's only when I am feeling lazy or filling in for fire support either indirect or direct.

I don't mind piloting an Atlas but I prefer a Stalker or Awesome for the assault chassis.

And as I am primarily a front assault group support medium mech that leaves me the Hunchback.

Exactly. I couldn't have given better reason for my Hunchback choice. Glad to know I am not the only one that likes the nasty mediums with BFGs

Atlas is the worst choice if you don't like to play the assault role. A mech unused is a dust collector. I rarely plan on piloting assault mechs.

I agree wholeheartedly! It comes down to the role you like to play - your playstyle as it were. Some like the speed and danger rush of recon, others the pounding action of frontline work while still others the satisfaction of raining missile fire or Dakka-Dakka in support of their lance mates. Why buy something you cannot appreciate? As far as I know, you cannot sell a Founders Mech so the cost should not matter.

I went with all 4 because I think that the legendary pack offered a good deal overall.

I went with Legendary just to support MWO and for the hardwork PGI has put in so far, everything else is just a bonus really ^^

I Went with the Atlas, I'm still contemplating switching to Legendary, but I've never been drawn to the Jenner.

As stated in other threads my first choice among current lights is the Commando, and the Raven is also another I've always liked. With the Jenner, it's likely to be a 'dust collector' to quote Sean von Steinike.

Others love the Catapult, and it is a nice Mech, but I've always felt it needed arms (which pretty much is what they did years later, becoming a Mad Cat). So while I'm sure I'd pilot one if I had it in my stable, it wouldn't be my first choice as a Heavy either.

And that is my Crux, get the Legendary for the two Mechs I really like, and one I'm okay with or Stick with Elite and get a Hunchback that doesn't provide a founders bonus. Decisions like this suuuuuuck.

I plan on going the "poki-mech" rout. Now I have 4 of the many i'm going to have, with their own mech slots to boot.

People will prolly flame me but:

I chose the 'no founder mech Veteran package' because I don't see myself chosing to pilot any of those Mechs. If I did own founder mechs, like any other realist I would feel compelled to use them as with their bonuses they are the 'best deal' for me to play. Therefore, the only way I'm going to be happy in my Commando, Centurion, Jagermech and Awesome etc is to not have bonus mechs I'm personally not so keen on taunting me in my garage.

I'll just have to try and make it up to Pirana by splashing out when the game is out of Beta.
