For me, I have spent a lot on this game.

I have not and will not purchase the Rifleman package, due to the vote system put in place. And due to the current wackiness of MM/PSR ratings.

Before The Vote System I purchased Lots of MC, Overlord Phoenix Pack, Sabre Pack Add On, Clan Invasion Wave 1 and 2 top tiers, Clan Invasion Wave 3 up to the Heavy, Resistance a la carte Grasshopper, Resistance 2 a la carte Mauler, Marauder Pack top tier, and Warhammer Pack top tier.

Less than I wish I could (MWO and all other games combined), more than is probably responsible. BUT, that usually applies to any form of hobby/entertainment that people take up.

If I were to guesstimate, i probably spend more than 3k a year on games, and regret nothing. I have a friend though, he spends about the same amount on theatres/streaming movies, and to me that sounds crazy. /shrug. So long as you get enjoyment out of what you spend, I hardly think it's a waste.

Money can't buy you happiness, just the things that make you happy B)

I own a 2001 Jeep (Just Empty Every Pocket), I think it gets a tad bit more loving than this game, but not by much!!!

Just returning.

Probably 300-400 over since inception? I dunno. Honestly, that's small potatoes for the time spent. My Warhammer 40K armies are north of 1500$ each, and I'll drop 100$ a weekend on ammo (9mm/45acp/5.56nato mostly) easily. At least with MWO, I can play whenever the mood strikes me without much prep work needed. I would like to sync up with some folks again.. I miss being on comms and hanging out.

in a whole year I spent $50 bucks on online games.

I have yet to spend anything on MWO though. Because if you want change why give them money and feed their bad behaviors ?

That is like randomly kicking your Dog and assuming he/she knows why he just got randomly kicked... ;)

Thats just crazy....

You might as well have just lit that money on fire. I promise you ive gotten as many mechs as you and had just as much fun and never spent a dime.

Its your money, but ... damn that just blows my mind. I guess if its "your hobby" then its worth it, ive surely dumped that much money into things I enjoy, just not a Free to Play video game. Im not knocking anyone, its just completely out of my realm of understanding.

Well that just proves the F2P model works for both sides. Your time versus others money. ;)

P.S. I budget $15 a month as I came direct from a 2.5 year Sub based game to MWO. It has worked out pretty good so far. ;)

How much I spend a year in video games... oh man. Well... less than I used to spend on MTG. Let's put it at that.

Only been playing for a bit more than a year. Aprox total spent on MWO is ~$450. Last game I spent real money on was Civ-4 (seriously). I spent real money on this game specifically to reward/pay the developers for a product I had been thoroughly enjoying. Since I am loathing some of the current proposals and trends I am not spending anything more until we have a better idea of what the game play is going to be like after the great re-balance.

I want diversity of mechs and an encouragement to play them (skill tree of some sort). Keep or improve those things and I will keep spending. "Balance" them out of existence and I fear I will not be the only one to walk away from my current and/or future investment. Want my cash? Give me Mechwarrior.

Meh My gaming money is pretty lax compared to other things.

1 Night this weekend - Me my wife and 3 kids
Hakkado Grill - 106 for 5 people (that includes tax)
Movies - 76 Bucks 5 People
Drinks 2 people - 40 bucks.

6 hours of entertainment - 122 bucks.

I know for a fact I have got more entertainment out of my storm crow and timber wolf alone.

Entertainment dollars about 10k a year. Games about 2 of that... Not really bad, its all about perspective I guess.
