Does anyone knows what is the charge up time for the Gauss Rifle?
Also, how much delay time I need, to not be affected by ghost heat?

My suggestion is NOT using a Macro fo Gauss

Its not better and it doesnt help at all. It actually hinders you because if you just hold the button down the charge is lost and you dont fire a round. With a macro the round fire at the end of the charge no matter if you have stepped back into cover, a friendly i in front of you or you know you are going to miss. The Macro doesnt know and will fire anyway....

There is also no Heat (or negligable) from gauss rifles so dont worry about GH(if it even exist, i dont think it does) but you can only fire 2 at a time.

This must be a troll thread...you have been around long enough to know this stuff....:P

Are you trying to start another Macro fight WAR?

You will have to test it. It's different on each mech because of quirks and modules.

Charge is .75s, and lasts 1.5s? Or lasts 0.75 seconds to total 1.5s?

Some combination of those numbers, but the charge is .75 no doubt.

Ghost Heat time is always a half second. Any weapon that can trigger it, half second.

I've always thought the charge delay should be shorter and the firing window be longer (both not by too much), but ultimately using a Macro for Gauss is overall a bad idea (mostly for the team damage/tk sense) as you want to put yourself in optimal timing positions and sometimes timing also works against you.

Don't do it, crutches only make you weak.

Just like Darth said. The gauss is much better used without any macro. You want to be in control of when you release your shot or not. Also, it's a really fun weapon once you get the hang of it. For maximum pleasure, practice jump sniping with it.

Macros that help bypass balancing system should be considered cheating and done away with.

I know many of you have top of the line computer peripherals that can do half the fighting for you but I don't think its fair against those of us that don't have a fancy mouse or 8 buttons to program.

I have play this game for a long time with two buttons on my mouse and Q fires group 3 and E fires group 4 and 5 fires group 5 because I haven't found an easy way to fire group five.

Space bar is great for that, providing one is not driving a mech with JJs. Just like how it was back in MW2.

As for macros, it is not cheating. Otherwise, World of Warcraft would have banned it long time ago, instead of making a macro function for the players--which they did.

Welcome to the glorious world of PC gaming.
Also, macors are not cheating and I haven't seen/heard of any that break any kind of balance rule.
So far, all of the macros I know of are acutally detrimental to a players performance.

Sort of, but the ghost heat was a legitimate question, never bothered about it before.

Thank you kind sir.

I'll try a dual Gauss/dual ERPPC DWF. The macro will make all of then fire together. I'll still be using the standard unmacroed Gauss mechanic when firing then alone, it gives indeed better control.

Any good concise reason to support this or is just because you said so?

macros improve human reactions, human cannot tap for example 5 times in row in 0.25 seconds delay. I dont care its not aplicable for gauss, its for other weapons. for laser it could avoid ghost heat, for balistic it could create constant shaking cockpit for opponent. Macros = cheating in general, no matter of what fanbois of it says.

Macros don't improve human reactions, training does.
I'll give you half of a point on lasers but macros creating constant cockpit shacking when using ballistic weapons. WTF are you talking about?

seems you play a little dumb here, so ill explain. macros improve human reactions, that was meant they do a repeated action in periodicly timeframes, while human cannot do that . (dont try with cpt tryhard ********, you cannot tap 5 times in row with 0.25 secs delay). as result, human will have bigger/smaller timedelay between each fire, which will cost him, higher unmanaged heat. with the fact he must also aim, he must take care about 2 things. with macros, only for one thus its improvement.
for balistic, im talking about ac2
for gauss, it has different benefit. you must not concentrate on reloading times, which distract you from firing other weapons. You only press button, like on all other weapons, and while aiming on target the macro will shoot it. Its extremely good benefit if you can hold lock on target.

Or you still deny the facts ?

But dont worry. Macro is defended ONLY from macro-users. thats typical.
