It won't happen though. It's just like the whole "don't buy gas on Monday to protest gas prices" idea. Nobody will actually do it, they'll just continue banging their heads up against a wall and complaining about it. And since PGI will see everyone still mucking through, they'll just assume it's a very vocal minority complaining about subjective stuff and never accept it as an actual problem. Instead, people are playing tons of matches and documenting the maps and modes... hell, I'll bet population is up a significant percent because of it. Y'all are inadvertently supporting their side by doing that. They aren't listening, they're looking at numbers and hearing positive things from their friends who are kissing their butts. Things probably look great to them right now.
But it's easy to do. Take a week off, patch on the next patch day, try it out and if it still doesn't meet your approval, repeat the process. If everyone who was unhappy with this system did that, population numbers would severely drop and a tweak, fix or new system would be necessary.
I won't be trying this next patch, just because I'm on vacation, but after I get back I'll patch, run a couple of matches, get sick of laserboat skirmish on HPG, log off and wait until the next patch and try again. I know nothing will change and this is the way of the game now. No more variety of any kind, always the same maps, always the same modes, always the same mechs with the same loadouts. When it gets boring and not fun, do something else.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying, "leave, and don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya". I want to play MWO too, I'm building up some new mechs and have lots I want to do, but not like this. But the only voice we have is via participation. The people who want laserboat HPG skirmish love this, they're all in. So all of us grumbling our way through unhappiness are only helping them and hurting ourselves.

Not a huge fan of the idea to give up on maps and gamemodes i like, so people can have faster drop times on yet the same 2-3 maps.
Let's hope i won't get bored of CW, otherwise i might play some hawken instead.

3PV and Consumables called. Told me to say 'Hi'
you know the only idea that pgi ever listened to me on - was my worst idea.
to implement coolshot into the game.
you can blame me for that i wrote a thread asking for coolant flush - not sure if i was the first one to do it but probably...
i got to say though, i did not expect more consumables to be implemented either (maybe i was naive) and out of all the consumables; coolshot is one of the least annoying imo.
but i am sure there are people who hate it

I won't say it's fun, or that you should play it.
What i will say is that it is "free to play" (okay, that's a lie, you have to pay for mechs and stuff) or better said, free to try out for a large bit before you decide to ditch some money into it.
I will also not advertise and say that you can currently try out several pay to play mechs for free.
Because, if you would be interested, you would easily find links like this
https://community.pl...ard-and-raider/
if you would ask a search engine.
TL;DR: If you want to know, try it out now.

My point was, they implemented 3PV, as well as consumables despite the community's open complaints, although they did rework the consumables from the original P2W format, I'll give them that.
And they kept saying how important and helpful 3PV is to new players.
The parallels between their previous missteps and this new one are actually very clear.
And once again, they seem to stick to the bad idea and just come up with new convoluted solutions adding more layers of complexity, instead of just saying "okay, we messed up, let's get back to the old mode select option".

you're right though to be fair they did can the laser lock on thing (which wasn't even their worst idea)
but it's completely true that one man's ego can sink a company;
there is a documentary series on youtube called "the rise and fall of the comic empire" watch that and you will see how a business can go down in flames due to a person being stubborn (in that case it was a number of stubborn people)

I don't agree on the premise, I like voting and think it needs to be tweaked BUT....
I do agree with your approach. Way to many times people wine and complain on these forums when what they should be doing is reaching out DIRECTLY to the team members by PM and on twitter. So much of what is sid on the forums is hot air. If you really feel strongly on a subject, email, PM and Twitter them. Forum ranting goes no where. And Please be polite when PMing them. They will respond better.
