Now, I am not going to say how I hate the laser-lock-range-gimp thing whatever you choose to call it. But is it really necessary for all laser weapons?
I see how it can hurt laser meta and I tend to agree that ER-LL/LPLs can get a bit ridiculous, especially Clan types. Even Clan ER-ML can use a gimp like that. But if you pilot a heavier SL/SPL/MPL brawler, it takes you a lot of time to get a lock on a mech 200 or 300 away from you. Which means that unless the enemy mech is targeted by someone else, he can trades with you without fear of you ever getting a solid lock on. Thus any FLD weapon would give them a huge advantage. And your only way to counter it would be to move into hugging range, which puts you in even more vulnerable position, especially if his friends are nearby.
That doesn't feel right at all. Brawling is by no means part of the meta and gimping it for all but lights makes me extremely sad and aggravated. I would even go as far as to say that I find this feature problematic.
Maybe, just maybe it would make more sense to limit ghost range to c-ERML/ERLL/LPL and IS LL/ERLL. That way laser brawlers won't become a casualty of the new rebalancing.

Oh, you smart devil, you! Of course, I should rearm all my Black Nights, Novas, and Banshees into LRM boats!
Only that wouldn't actually work now, would it? Also you have come up with no reason why laser brawlers should be weaker than they are now.

Not that I mind, but this is going to buff the hell out of the PPC/Gauss builds.
And not sure, but is this going to buff the little brawler ACH/FS short range builds too? Since they can't be dealt at range without target locks as well?

If you don't have a spotter to help you maintain a lock then yeah, it's streaks or bust.
