Among the issues we face right now there is the distinct preference for Skirmish mode in the pug queue, as well as Lights being less rewarding to play than heavier classes, and being the least popular in queue. Map voting might or might not go away so I won't comment on that.
Here is what I thought of: First PGI should increase the objective rewards, so a full cap in Assault, for example, is worth the time spent on it. Perhaps every 3 ticks will reward hefty amount of C-Bills and XP to the mechs in the cap zone only. This will mean fast mechs are much more rewarding to run in Assault and Conquest, since they can get there first.
Secondly, PGI should give all Lights bonus capture speed quirk--basically a free cap accelerator module--more cap % on less popular Lights. In TF2 the Scout class has 2x point capture speed than the other classes, making it a fast class that is great for capturing points, to make up for its mediocre damage. MWO can certainly emulate that, though to a lesser degree, around 20-30% increase, for starters. Combined with the increased objective rewards above, there will be more Lights in queue, and even a pure cap win can be decently rewarding to those who had bothered to cap.
Also, PGI should give good amount of C-Bills to pilots who had managed to shoot down UAVs--currently there is no C-Bill reward for UAV kills. It will certainly encourage people to look out for the tiny UFOs in the sky.

Some Reward Changes Pgi Could Introduce.

Not sure on exact figures, but I certainly think that a rebalancing of the rewards to try and get a better split on which modes and weights are played would be a good thing.
As for UAVs: really not feeling it, surely the reward on that should be "the other team don't have eyes in the sky and you don't get perished because of it"?

That's not how it works to an average pugger. For them, no money, no effort. Only the allure of C-Bills can goad them into doing something. Which is why I reluctantly agree with giving AMS C-Bill reward for shooting down missiles. Otherwise, no one will equip it, and instead cry about "OP LRMs" in the forums, or in chat.

Cap rewards sound easiest.
Everything else is extra code to add on. Were I doing it, I'd also forsee the need to have other "Free modules" in any class of mech.
But since you mentioned "Less popular light" now that becomes every possible chassis ever.
Which is not something I would want to do. Especially since rarely does anyone actually buys lights for IRL cash. Not by themselves, anyway.

I honestly don't see this happening... because PGI.

Tbh, I prefer just killing mechs. I do have an idea for defenders. To help it not feel like a chore or just annoying there could be a bonus for dmging/killing a mech that's in or was recently in the cap.
One of the issues with assault is how boring it is when there's a base rush.

All those ideas sound interesting, but I'd advise you to try tweeter instead of the forums.
