Please leave the red hit indicator. Currently in the PTS I am having trouble figuring out if I hit the target or not. Reason for me wanting it to stay the same? I am used to it and the change is throwing me off? It complicates the game more than necessary? I hate the new one? It is unnecessary to the reduced range, no lock mechanic? Pick one!

Please don't change this!!

Battlefield2-style crosshair behavior has been already refused by modern games.
Currently crosshair has no adjustable transparensy and with additional star sign(hit marker) on it eclipse a target, especially for long ranges. Therefore, pilots can't aim because of hud, which is nonsense. I can't believe that aim, ui and ux of targeting system in 21st century are much better than in 31st century. Please, give us red sign of impact. And make something with range indicator of weapons - those range jumping in hud makes those numbers of weapon range useless. It makes game more complicated. Especially for newbies after steam release.

adjustable aiming reticles and red damage indicators are lostech

you guys complain too much. at least the CROSSHAIR IS STRAIGHT. Unlike this other brilliant PGI game that has a crooked crosshair (jarhead games is PGI with a different label). lolol.

Lostech, huh? but people in 31st century still travel by spaceships, not by some "simple-rocket" tech, despite battles among them. You contradict yourself in your trying of justifying. In the period of @lost_tech mechwarriors replaced the damaged equipment with captured in battle, or found in storages of star league.
Maybe it will be surprise for you that star league was gone, but technology of it remain without capability to reproduce. Till the Gray Death Legion found Helm's treasure. As a MODERN example - your car can't be driven without steer wheel.

Wasn't the change to the crosshair so it would be more fair for those people who are color blind?

What about people with one hand? Should others cut their hand in order to make game fair?
Or physically disabled people? Should PGI forbid keyboards and gamepads?
Unfortunately, it is impossible to satisfy everybody.
Red crosshair fits desires of vast majority of people.

I think Khobai's "Lostech" comment is supposed to be sarcastic. So hard to get feeling in text.

They now have the crosshair changing shape as a mechanic in the PTS for the colorblind. Make it an option in settings. I personally would not mind trying out both, but I REALLY want it to flash red.

Wasn't the more obvious solution is to change the color of blink, then? And then make it a drop-down option in settings?

Like, is that some weird national Canadian feature never to fix the issue in the most simple and rational way?

Simple, lock the target or use target locks given by teammates if you are too far away.

Hit markers are a crutch, popular among mainstream shooters.

they can turn into white color which has different monochrome texture than blue, yellow and red.
But It SHOULD blink. Not add additional symbols on hud.
and btw how they could make game more fair when it is viridian bog and all green camo mechs?)
all players' client crash?)
