I'm putting this in the Urbanmech forum because my testing showed that this mech would have the most noticeable difference in performance if the skill tree change is adopted.

I tested three chassis that I own and flipped between the test server and live server to make sure I was not perceiving a difference that was not there. I tested the Hunchback, Kit Fox, and Urbie since I know all of those have low max engine caps (fixed for Kit Fox).

Of course, the Hunchback had the least difference. I didn't really notice too much of a difference from the torso twist speed, torso twist range, or turning. The big difference was the braking and acceleration. That extra 1.5 steps and not being able to take off as quickly are going to make it a sitting duck. Right now it is already having a tough time competing against the SCR in the medium weight class.

As for the Kit Fox and Urbie, these changes will be signing their death warrant. I saw a significant difference in their ability to turn, pop in and out of cover, and keep focus on target (torso twist speed) while moving full speed.

As we know, for lighter mechs, speed=life. For the mechs with bigger engines, or the ability to mount bigger engines, you can offset the Skill Tree changes for reduced firepower and cooling. Not for these and others that have low engine size caps.

Please consider these mechs when deciding on possible changes.

PTS 4 Update:

I could be wrong, but I don't think the over 30% Torso Yaw Speed and Turn Rate/Speed (except for sniper GI and 4P) were in the last PTS for the HBKs. It seems to offset the removal of Skill Tree bonuses.

Noticed nothing changed for Urbie or Kit Fox. With the Urbie, I need to lift and slide the mouse more than once to get full rotation. That is at 7000 dpi. Maybe bump it from 15% to 25% next PTS to offset the removal of Skill Tree bonuses.

Really good idea on increasing the torso twist rate on the urbie, make it a real feature!

FYI - Calling for an increase to offset the removal of Skill Tree quirks. It really hurts those mech that have a low engine cap (180 for Urbie).
