No idea why this never occurred to me, but what we need is a lava map.
And a large map, maybe even at night, and with lots of heat to foil thermal vision. We could even have active lava flows all over the place that glow red and orange. Maybe even a base in the middle of a VOLCANO, suspended over lava. That would be really cool.

IMO, that effin' volcano should randomly erupt and incinerate everything inside.
Except the resource point that you must capture.

You know the catwalk stuff in the volcano..
they should make amap with that terrain but mostly catwalks and industrial crap over top of lava
deep lava, so if you fall in, game over man
think Mining Colony meets Volcano
Also a big underground cavern map would be sweet

I'd be happy never to play Terra Therma again until they rework it. The center with choke points was so badly designed, and the usual amount of pug idiocy and cowardice doubles and triples in that map.

But Terra Therma Conquest was cool. We got to fight on parts of the map we rarely use or even see.

For objective types, large maps like Alpine could be more fun with randomly placed objectives...well, random within a set.
But to break the urge to murderball...I just don't know how you design against it other than spreading friendly lances far from each other but relatively closer to equivalent enemy lances to create some odd Thunderdome in the end. Though such a game mode would have to be both appealing and voluntary, lest we continue the problem we have now.

Yeah me too.... its one of my favored maps, and has some of the most beautiful lava landscapes I've ever seen in a game..
Miss it..
I wish we had more maps in that style, but with less "go to center"...
