Just had a thought that I don't think I've heard Russ/PGI talk much about.
I'm proposing two changes to the Skill Tree system.
1.) IS and Clans should each have their own unique skill sets.
- IS should keep the current skill tree, and an entirely new one (with different effects, some similar, should be developed for clans.)
-Clans should get a reduced (or removed) Speed Tweak skill
This would allow for more lore-related fluff to be added. Clans fight 1v1 and have an entirely different mentality and values than Inner Sphere pilots., use this as an opportunity to define what skills IS and Clans can unlock.
2.) Skill unlock values should be weighted by weight class.
ie. Light Speed Tweak gets 5% increase
Assault Speed Tweak gets 10% increase
Just sharing some ideas, anything that means balance achieved with systems that are ALREADY IN PLACE. as opposed to the horrid laser-lock requirement mechanic introduced in the PTS.
