As the title says, when are you going to give me, and a lot of us, a reason to give a **** about this game?

You have a beautiful combat simulator, but NOTHING else. Community Warfare does not exist because it's not the community, it's the elitists, who are playing it.

When are we going to see objective-based warfare?

When are we going to see something more than beat each other to death?

I purchased the Marauder pack, but I'm about <---> this far away from withdrawing it.

Give us a reason to stay, or give up the game to another developer.

What elitists do cw?
I think CW is underpopulated because
1. It's pointless
2. It takes an already boring and tired game and multiplies it by 4
3. It's pointless

Apparently, an overwhelming majority of the player base wants nothing but beating each other up on featureless maps. So why is PGI going to waste time giving us anything else?

PGI will spend the time giving us better, or there will be no one left when the twitchers decide it's time for them to be done with the game.

So CW isn't fun because good players using good builds and good teamwork ruin it for everyone else? :P

Why would you even ask for objective based warfare when PGI has shown exactly zero ability to create fun objective based game modes?

Yep. Its no big deal. The Galaxy map at the moment is 1/3 done with a few half done maps and one game mode. Its been like that the entire year.

Its not great for the players but its a sure bet they have been working on it the entire time.

It was even said most of the year was spent preparing the game for the Steam launch. I bet that includes alot of additions not yet in game etc.

By the way, I totally agree with the topic. I also agree that its not going to be fun for long term play until it i alot more complete.

After I reached top rank for the faction I am in I have taken a break from the Galaxy map because I am sure they will add alot more and want to go back at it fresh to enjoy it.

Taking a break from Mechwarrior Online mostly, until the Steam launch for the exact same reason. Said a while ago its a good time to take a break and I meant it. :)

Many more people would play CW if holding planets actually meant something!

PGI could have implemented a stop gap (tell the players that is what it is) and make holding a planet give X to the unit holding it and that would have reinvigorated the mode until they made CW into what they really have envisioned for it, but they choose to do nothing and let it die further.. then they will wonder why no one comes back when they do make it something more .. by then people will have moved on.

PGI: you want more content? here buy more mech packs.

People need to be forced to play CW. assault/skirmish/conquest should just be rolled into CW. Everyone should be forced to pick a faction and every match played should count for CW.

You can still let them choose if they wanna play assault/skirmish/conquest or invasion/counterattack/4v4scoutmode but EVERY match played should count towards capturing or defending a planet.

The playerbase just isnt big enough to segregate players between non-CW and CW matches... it needs to all be CW in order to save CW.

Also there should be personal bonuses for capturing planets and faction-wide bonuses for capturing planets. That would give people a reason to capture planets.

It's taken me 4 years to admit the truth to myself, even though it is something I have known all along.

This game is never going to be anything like what it was advertised to be when I signed up the day the forums went live.

Even the proposed changes to CW if/when they get here have done nothing to improve my hopes for this game.

With no one playing CW at all during the OC TZ and this stupid map voting system having me playing almost nothing but skirmish matches (a mode I abhor) I have Zero reason to even log in ATM. I currently have a week of PT left running I may log in over the weekend mornings and see if I can get a couple of CW matches during NA TZ. After that it might be a loooong break until the CW changes happen.

I am having a lot of second thoughts about my Marauder and Warhammer purchases. I was hoping one of these might give the IS a descent heavy that doesn't rely on over done quirks, to be effective.

I do not like what I am seeing or the emphasis on a competition shooter. Each step in that direction takes us further away from a BT based game.

I suppose the big question has to be... do we just let MWO go, now, play a little bit here and there for entertainment value and, once the people from Steam have had their fill, just let the game die? If that's the direction we need to go, then I'll withdraw my money for the Marauders tomorrow.

You could just refund the money now if you're not sure and buy it again later if/when you're more satisfied with the game.

You got tier 1 to care about so people take you seriously as a competent player. B)

If MWO becomes a twitch FPS in 'mechs then it'll just disappear because there are dozens of twitch FPS games out there and most are better at it than MWO is. We'll hear the Steam crowd's verdict by New Year's Day.

Look at me what? I like the low tiers because I play this game for fun. I have no desire to leave T4/T3 because everyone knows what they are doing to a point, but no one is so good that on player making a mistake cascades failure and leads to a 12:) stomp like has been reported in T1 from my buddies who are in that rarified air. All I want to do is stay out of the hell that is T5.

You're the one that was being all bitter, I was just trying to shine a ray of sunlight on your doom and gloom post.
