Playing The Streak Cat.

Man, it's not good by ANY stretch of the imagination, but when I DO happen to do well it's pretty rewarding feeling.
So, what gimped mechs does everyone else play just to keep sharp instead of laser vomit online?

Blackjack-Arrow with 2 LL 1 Medpulse and 6 mg.
Commando with 2xSRM2/4 and 2 medlas.
Any Kitfox build.
Adder with 1 UAC-10 and 2 medlas.
UrbanMech with 1 LPL, 2 medlas, 3 MG's
Anything with SRM's. (not streaks)
I find these to be challenging builds.

3xSRM6+A (hitreg is borked)
3xMGs (another great weapon to have a good challenge for making damage and getting crits)
Have a go with it

Oh yea, played the hell out of that. I ended up eliet-ing the Cent just for that build.

The rest I can see, but I wouldn't really consider that "gimped" lol. The Enforcers are tough little mechs.

Or any VTR without PPCs and with SRMs
Or SHD just with MLs and SRMs
Or even a Jagger with 2xLRM15+A + 2xSRM6+A + 2xMLs (this is either a great game changer or just a poor paper armored mech)
I've had fun with all of these and also that Centy.
Try them and have fun

Edit - As I'm at work, can't be linking the builds to smurphy as it takes too long. But I believe you can make the builds with the info I pointed out above.

I tried the Jager build like a year ago and it doesn't work
In fact with the sneaky structure slot nerf/mods there are not to many builds that do work
I should say builds you can kick butt in
I keep my TW with with 3 CUAC 5 around and I shed a little tear for it every once in awhile
I haven't used it in months

I usually do well in other mechs, but I find the shadow cat to be squishy and paper thin no mater how I build it, and it simply doesn't have the hardpoints to deal out any significant amount of damage..
On the off chance I don't get targeted for most of the match, or when I troll-out and go sniping.. it helps a little..

Not wanting to turn this topic into a debate about builds but just to clarify that the build I referred to in the Jagger works, it just takes a lot of work for it to be a good build (ideal ammo distribution, positioning, situational awareness, all of that stuff) and you depend a lot on the team.
You miss your positioning or situational awareness for over 15 seconds and it might be over for you.
But I've recently done a streak of matches with that build pulling over 400 damage every single time.
So yes, most builds I've stated above are hard to work with especially with the current meta and the way teams play (nascar and all that stuff). But they do work if you take the time and consider it a challenge to make them work

PS - I'm a sucker for playing non-meta builds and have been for ever. Maybe I like the extra challenge, but if the OP is anything like me, he will like to try those builds, any of them as a matter of fact.

Simple, any light mech that isn't the Cheetah or the Firestarter. At worst, they're a great way to lower your PSR rating. /thread

Bahaha! I still love this mech! Few matches ago I snuck around the low side in Canyon and said in all chat "shhhh, I'm hunting Atlases" snuck up behind an Atlas missile boat, and 2-shotted him in the back. I tend to lay low until something big wanders nearby, then cackle madly as I charge right up to it and fire the 77 point alpha strike repeatedly (sometimes needing coolshot). I find this to be one of the very few mechs that can actually make a Dire Wolf panic.
Quite the mood killer to have my ears blown off though...
