Heat Scaling

When a Mech gets hotter the follow happens

1) Movement is reduced

2) Weapon Cool-down times increase

A simple fix and close to cannon

Would so fix all the issues around Laser Vomit

I'll counter offer you and say these penalties only go into effect if you exceed the recommended weapon balance limit of firing about 30 damage per second worth of weaponry, aka, the reason heat scale "ghost heat" was introduced in the first place. 2 Guass, Three PPC's, 5 medium lasers, ect, ect. It is the same limits we already have.

Instead of more heat, just give us less movement, including turn speed and acceleration/deceleration as the drawback to overheating, and unlink it to a specific weapon system. Just have it be DPS, and show it on the HUD as a widening of your heat scale thermometer bar. It goes up as you get hot, and it gets wider as you throw out more DPS.

Right now you are fully operational until you shut down. The board game had your mech start losing performance as it heated up. Well, you can have your cake and eat it too if you make the heat scale penalties only appear to curb the funky builds that rely on gaming the system and min-maxing firepower.

I would also have ammo explosions, but not on the instant death levels you see in the board game. Just have 1 round cook off and hurt yourself, not all of your ammo. Just enough to deter people from both abusing the system to go with cool running ballistics and ignore heat problems.
