Pretty straight forward question to those using the Saitek X-65F Pro Flight Combat Control System.

Because of my Workspace beeing made out of glass I'm sometimes having troubles with my X-65F sliding/twisting away while doing more aggressive moves so the only option would be to use the Securing Plate provided with the System and modify it to make it more suitable for the glass surface.

With only ONE Securing Plate beeing shipped with the Package it's kinda hard to get BOTH the Stick AND the Throttle fixed in place so after some failed attempts to get an additional one from Saitek I'm now trying my luck with the Community.

My Question to the X-65F Users:
Would you be willing to sell me your Securing Plate including the necessary screws and washers?

I'm obviously willing to pay for the shipping to Switzerland next to the ( hopefully reasonable ) price you seem to be necessary to part from it.

Do you have a local machine shop that can just bang you one out? That piece would literally take 20 minutes to 45 minutes to make if you took the dimensions in with you. Probably be half the price of shipping it and buying it from another person.

I had the same problem. Velcro was the solution.

Couldn't you just make a base out of wood to which you screw the stick and then put rubbers or something under the board?
Don't know the stick but your picture doesn't show anything special.
The needed screws/washers/whatever should be available in any hardware store.

as the rest say. it wouldnt be too hard to make one.

some 3mm Al plate (normally available as an Al alloy since it is a more durable material to work with) should suffice.
i assume everyone has a drill and some form of workbench.
as not everyone is an engineer with numerous technicians at their disposal and access to NC machines and the lot, the only thing you may need to buy is a tap to thread the screwholes (only necessary if the mounting screws are machined as to self tapping) - these can be found online and are inexpensive at no more than £5 ea.

I'm pretty much the all or nothing guy which is why I have opened this thread.

Buying a HOTAS System for 300 Bucks and then ruin the look of it by slapping a selfmade wooden or iron plate below it is not quite my standards.

Once I'm already having this made by a machine shop I'd also have it powdercoated in black which will cost me more than shipping plus whatever the seller of an unused one thinks it's probably worth.

So yeah... It's gonna be either a second one not used by another X-65F User or have 2 new plates made by a professional company to keep em equal and in style.

Can you buy a second one from Saitek. Call their customer support line and tell them you have missing hardware. Usually they will send things out no question, or for a nominal postage fee.

If you can find someone in Europe it should not be too much of an issue.
My recent experience with shipping from the US to German on a small package with limited value. Package was shipped USPS Priority $16, it took 6 weeks to arrive (no explanation as to why it took so long, evidently it sat on a shelf). My hope is that the Swiss Post is better thatn the German Post at this time, it has gone down hill over past years.

i would sell you mine but 2 problems 1. i am using mine tho i could drill holes in desk and get screws long enough to go threw it but my velcro would be useless too you and 2. i have a square trade warranty for 2 years and if something should fail in it over 2 years time ill need the base plate to get a refund and you can just cover the bottom of the stick with velcro i mean completely cover the bottom then have a piece on plexi cut to fit between feet on stick (if it has them did not pay that much attention to bottom) then cover bottom of plexiglass completly with velcro and secure it to glass desk and will look good

I tried the US Customer Support which after 1 month replied to my ticket just telling me I'm supposed to use the local Support Branch so I gave it another shot with the EU Support who then told me they don't have/sell these Parts.

Reminds me of a Friend who buys his Console Games from the US/Alaska because of the Hardware he uses and then has em shipped to France where he now lives. He once waited for an item more than 3 weeks keeping an eye on it with the provided Tracking Number just to see it beeing shipped back after it already arrived near his location.

Anyway...
While still keeping a close eye to this thread I'm also taking a closer look into getting a set of 2 weightplates machined:

I really need one of those 3D Printing Lasersinthers to craft stuff like this myself ;(

If you cut out the bevels on the side and back it will be a lot cheaper to make. I do Autocad and machineshop work. Trust me Machinists love to charge you a lot for the little things like that.
