I am not a new player by any means but I guess my question falls into this category. I've been trying to get my mike working in the game for multiple times while playing CW. In those games its detrimental to have somebody giving good commands and leading the team. To my frustration however I haven't been able to get my working with any type of settings. If there are any right ones, what are they? I am referring to the options in the audio section of the options menu.

I have similar issue when my SoundBlaster software is running. Killing the program works for me. You may want to try turning off any software, other any what it needs to run, your sound card is running.

It may be your drivers. Some hardware just refuses to work with MWO: VOIP.

Mine will work, however every time I sign onto MWO, after I plug in my headset I have found I have to
1. go to Audio
2. Uncheck enable voip
3. Save settings
4. reopen Audio
5. Check to enable voip
6. Save settings.

For some reason on my rig, that seems to knock MWO into recognizing voip. It's a bit frustrating given this is a brand new gaming rig so you'd think it would just, you know, work perfect. I will say it's the only game I have audio glitchiness. However, once I do that quick 'reset' above, it works fine all night.

Your mileage may vary.

I had a hell of a time getting in-game voice working.

What I ended up doing was increasing the microphone gain in windows. That worked.

As the microphone was working for other programs (teamspeak) it took me a while to track it down.

This may or may not help. Good luck.

I also have to follow this method every time I start the MWO client.

I think you wanted to say it can be detrimental to not have somebody giving good commands and leading the team.

The tactics of a PuG team can be baffling. I've noticed that in games people may not even realise that it's a good idea to form up before pushing. Some players even ask for somebody to take the command so I don't really see an issue here. Talking into the mike is the easiest way to communicate with the team because managing the map is a bit of a hassle. Needless to point out that not everybody even reads the chat so writing in it isn't a really good option either.
