Ladder League Support?

Which brings me to another thought. How are we suppose to practice as units for the meta-game? I can remember spending hours with teammates walking maps and testing each area for shot distance between hills, flank areas, etc... The way i see it setup now the only private unit training aspects will have to happen during battle.

Get some friends and learn to play with them.

This isn't a copy or clone of every craptastic previous release. Get ready for some meta-game and world conquering action.
If only they'd go the next step and make it a 4X MechWarrior simulation ...

Apparently you did not read my whole post. Just how are we supposed to play alone with our friends?

I'm not sure where your going with this. There is very little difference between this and any other release since MW2. Last I checked it was a 3d video game right? Besides don't I have a right to voice my opinion without someone calling the games I enjoyed before craptastic? Im not belittling anything you want to do with this game. I was hoping for some options for those who do like league play.

There is no reason why you cant on your own, do your own thing.
Youll simply need to find 24 people who want to get together and train or spar.
And then come match day, all 24 from different units show up in the same room/group and then drop together

Just the ability to have private servers is enough for ladder support. I'm sure the people who want to run a league will put up some type of chat room to set up battles..etc. I've already seen previous league owners ask about it. Its not like i'm asking the impossible here.

This. I fondly remember this kind of stuff. Leagues are what kept MW4 going long past its expiration date. The psychology behind holding the number 1 spot on a ladder and exclusively holding territory in a meta-game is fundamentally the same. Whether one prefers ladder leagues over meta games (or likes them both equally) is ultimately just that, a matter of preference.

I'm not sure why Sleepy Head gets upset at the idea. Chess competitions haven't seemed to hurt the game of chess. I would love to see some type of an evo rating, and this coming into play in matchups, so that good players can more often play against good players. Ranked matches, etc

I'm sure that if you just want to play a couple of matches you'll be able to do that, just as I'm sure that the people who want to get deeper into the meta-game will have their opportunities. Do I know this for sure? Nope. Just basing it off of current info and wide-eyed speculation.
And yes, I do belittle people if that's how they take it. Else I'm simply giving my opinion and that's how you take it. :words:

You really don't see this happening in the meta-game either? Is there some balancing factor somewhere that negates pilot skills that I missed?

It would be probable that there will be pre-made teams of 12 that drop at the same time in the hopes that they are matched up against each other. Both teams will call a truce and walk the map as well as practice mass movements, scout tactics, etc. Should this happen the teams that train together will be very close knit and a terror on the battlefield.
