ok so with the intro of the linebacker[97.5 kph pre-speed tweaked]
do you guys at pgi think you can take the speed cap off of the catupolt?
if you think the forums lit up over the cat doing 99.8 kph post speed tweaked,
what do you think it will be like with the linebacker doing 102+ kph?[post speed tweaked]
its not like the cats going to wreck the linebacker 1 v 1,
and it would be nice to have the cat running full speed again.
its not rite to have mechs like the urby out running the catupolt,
or to be tail end charlie in a cat either.[84.5 kph max post speed tweaked]
the top speed is the only thing missing in the cats arsenal thats been left out sence beta,
and that was over rubberbanding effects soo can we address this now?
or is that level of speed in a heavy mech only a cash option now?

or you could...use a heavy mech without a low engine cap.... the Jester Catapult can take a 355, the Dragons can all fit 360s, thus same speed as a linebacker. All the quickdraws except the 44 can take 360s also.

well what i was getting at is all cats could use a 340 std or xl and do 99.8 kph. after speed tweak.
obviuosly the reasons for the speed cap have been resolved as the linebackers going to be doing 102.5 after speed tweak.
that's a heavy running at ryoken speed,so letting cats do hi 90's kph isn't outlandish at all.
most of the 1st yr of mwo , cats could do this speed so its just asking for them to go that fast again. lols
the speed was a big part of the old streak cat being so dangeruos, it had the speed to get in and use those 6 streak 2's lols
now cats got 100 ton clan mechs chasing them down.
don't hear any one saying "kodiak's way op man!".
would just like to see mwo's very 1st heavy mech get it's running legs back.
oh yah and shouldn't have to pay cash for a mech to do its origenal speed.[ jesters a hero mech ]
dragon never got speed nerfed either. lols

You have your terms or figures or something mixed up there.

The speed cap is up around 170kph or something like that.

If you are referring to the maximum engine rating that a mech can have, I am not aware of that changing at all and do not see any valid reason why it should.

The speed tweak was reduced but this was across all mechs and was done so that new players in unmastered mechs were not at such a disadvantage so it affected everyone and everything and I believe this is the change you might be referring to.
It will not be changed back again and honestly, it was barely noticeable at the time because all mechs were affected.

eeah gads i see in the past 4 yrs these forums have not changed a bit!
now engine size was nerfed long ago cus it made mechs rubber band effect come into play that's why pgi put the max engine rating in place!
had you been in mwo long enuf you'd know this.
the whole speed cap issue was over rubberbanding effects ingame .
pgi put max engine rating ingame to end rubber banding effect!
max engine rating is the speed cap!
now in comes a 65 ton clan mech doing 102+ kph!
soo just why cant the cat do its old max speed?!
obviusly the rubber banding effect is solved or this clan mech wouldnt be going faster then the speeds that was cuasing the rubber banding effects to begin with!
