So is there any reward for capturing a planet?
I do not see any incentive for a Unit to strugle for a planet at the moment.
I wasn't able to find anything about this.
Thank you!

Right now there is nothing more than bragging rights. PGI has received plenty of criticism for this. Obviously, this should be fixed when CW is more complete.

Nothing happens when you take a planet.

it expands your territory giving you new planets and possibly factions you can attack.

You get a lot of cbills when you are winning drops, because of the 300k bonus for wins. For me, that's enough reason to help take planets. Hopefully logistics will add other reasons that are maybe specific to certain planets like factories, defenses, etc.

Planets themselves? Yup. Bragging rights. Mostly within ones own faction. Alternatively, they are used to shame/motivate faction members into action to overcome the standing of those filthy mercs who might have captured more planets (on behalf of your faction admittedly) than your loyalist units...and that is just not acceptable.
As a side note: maybe I am high on this, but does anyone recall an advertisement or maybe just an anticipatory review of the proposed CW game from maybe 2 years ago which talked about planets within each faction having key resources or facilities and that losing them would have detrimental effects over time and likewise capturing them made certain aspects of the game easier (e.g. mech x is manufactured on planet y, loss of planet y makes mech x unavailable or more expensive for purchase to members of your faction...that sort of thing)? It was before I even considered playing MWO, but I I swear I read something like that and thought "boy I wish I had time to play that game! Sounds cool!"
Anyone have a similar memory?
I'm probably just hallucinating again, but ya never know.

Well crap.
You get the cbills no matter what planet you fight for.
Thank you for the answers.

While I agree there should be rewards for holding a planet, I run into two concerns.
First, it doesn't seem like the community can agree as to what the rewards should actually be. It appears LP, C-bills, and reduced/increased C-bill prices on 'mechs are all no good, due to "Elite" unit players already having full coffers, so while I want to see reason to take the planets, people continually shoot down any suggestions I've had as to what they should be, and I just don't think that there's actually any one thing that players want that isn't meant to be bought with MC.
Second, if one faction starts "Winning" CW and starts getting greater rewards, what's to stop players from jumping ship and making the rich get richer? The game is going to suck if all the players only join one or two factions.

Rewards to taking and holding planets is a grey area. What is to say a planet has been taken legitimately or through the help of some Admirals for example? Are such illegitimate gains to be awarded ontop of the already awarded winning bonus per round?
