This is exactly how I use my votes. Thus far I am very happy with the process. I am willing to play most any map, have very few "hard preferences" (like I prefer alpine conquest, terra therma to be avoided or at worst conquest, and I am not a fan of bog etc), and so using votes to reduce the less fun ones for me seems to work well.

I didnt have more than a couple of map/mode combos I disliked in about 20 drops which is a much better rate of return on my gaming experience than pre vote system.

What changed? I played my first games with the voting system last night, so never saw it in its original incarnation. (I've been busy... only playing I've done in ~2-3 weeks was the CW challenge last weekend.)

My experience last night was fine. I didn't have any problems with it... seemed like the maps were still essentially randomly selected, as the "favorite" wasn't selected in any of my games.

I think I'm helped by the fact that I like Skirmish and Assault equally well, so don't really care which of those we're playing. I'd prefer to have warning that we're playing Conquest before Mech selection, though... I really don't like bringing an Assault to Conquest.

I love the new map voting system. I had some decent games last night with lots of variety. I hope PGI leaves the system in.

I still hate it. I still mostly played on skirmish which I hate, and I still got a lot of the same maps(still have not seen bog or terra). I also ran into odd situations where I lost all of my vote weight even though what I selected didn't win. Maybe the vote resulted in a tie and it randomly selected the mode/map I didn't vote for, but I still lost my extra vote power because I was tied with the winning vote? All I know is this is still bad, and my interest in playing is going down faster and faster.

So we have achieved some "love" for the revised Voting system and some "hate" for the revised Voting system. Seems about on par for the course. Well done to all.

Just had a Therma Conquest.

Maps/Modes are now varied again, which is great. Much more variety than before.

I was skeptical but have to admit the vote change is working much better than I expected.

And I haven't even gotten over +3 on maps or modes. Good job.

I can appreciate allowing a vote on the maps, with the current rotation based on voting it's almost like it's "random". Voting on the match type is a good idea but the map choice should be left to random, or I guess if choosing random is the goal to then why go through the motions at all? I advocate leaving the map random, it adds the unknown element which is more exciting (the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat type of vibe) while allowing us to vote on the type of match be kept.

I hate it.

Game mode and map voting should be removed.

My observation is that most people who like it tend not to have strong feelings about the game mode they play anyway, so would probably be happy to go back to being able to select game mode and having random maps.

For those of us with strong preferences as to which game mode we want to play it has literallly ruined the game.

Absolutely hate Conquest, but I never complained about the original voting system, and an improved one is even better.

IMO this is a good enough middle ground for those who do not want to play certain modes. Seeing a good mix of maps and game modes now and even a good share of mordor conquest, which has resulted in some very close and exciting matches. I'm logging in a lot more again since the last patch, I had lost a lot of interest because of frozen city and skirmish so much of the time.

As a disliker of skirmish/deathmatch/team deathmatch since the Quake era, I'm willing to play through it for a third of the time without complaining about it. This is infinitely better than the previous version of the vote option.

Shame there's now always a few complainers every time we see conquest, and especially mordor. Must be a shock having to play that rather than their preferred choice of frozen city night skirmish.
