Seems like Origins IIC mechs got stashed away in the back with all this other talk, thought I'd bring it back to the table to discuss.

I'm just going to offer what I think of each Chassis here.

Jenner IIC

While it looks overpowered, in all reality, it isn't. Why? Well, the Jenner IIC does not deter from it's mother design much, the only difference is that it has chicken legs. So yeah, you can lose a ST if you're careless, both rather quickly now that I think about it.

1st variant's okay, best chances are with 4 SRM2s in each arm, and one Streak SRM6 in the CT, remove 2-3 Jump Jets for armor, and you've got the Clan Oxide version.

2nd variant, 4 mediums a Streak or SRM6 and a few more jump jets, plus armor as well.

3rd variant, same as 2nd, just downgrade the SRM or Streak for a few more Jump Jets.(CW Viable mech)

4th variant. Set to go just about, unless drop a DHS or two for some armor, or drop a SPL, and it's ready to go. (CW Viable)

Hunchback IIC

Considered a glass cannon? Two variants, yes, but that's about it. Hunchie IIC won't be like the IS Hunchies hunch, but they'll still obscure the POV for the pilot, it by a little bit. Jump Jets are a major plus in the maneuverability category, but, however, it's going to have problems running a XL, due to the fact that there's an increase in mass due to the hunches, so that when you poke, your hunches will be exposed the most, leading to problems such as losing a hunch, or even both, resulting in death.

1st variant. Glass cannon, won't be that great, or that bad, in the middle just about. Dual Gauss meta will be a thing, or mix it up with dual UAC/5 and dual ER Large Lasers, or a UAC/10 and a UAC/20.

2nd variant. Laser vomit inbound (Literally!). Not much to say about that. (CW Viable)

3rd Variant. Your newest light hunter, now with customization!. Slap on 4 Streak SRM6, two mediums, a fast XL engine, jump jets, and as much ammo as you can carry. (Alternative to stormcrow, or the shadowcat in terms of missile hardpoints and/or tonnage)

4th Variant. Upgrade to the 1st variant. lasers in arms. woot. (Much sarcasm, not gunna lie about that, but hey, at least you can use your arms for something... right?)

Orion & Highlander IIC

I don't have much to say about them, because, well, they're basically upgrades to the IS versions, not much pizzaz to them,but... Orion IIC and Highlander IIC will definitely be better than the IS, because, well, clan tech, and err... XL nerfs... that may help balance all Origins IIC mechs.

They're all gonna be absurd when they get released unless they put across the board 30% nerfs on all their weapons (an equally stupid plan since that will make them all useless). I eagerly await the madness.

Always, clan XL, always. Lose both STs on a hunch and you have no weapons anyways. The state engines are in now, cXL is a no brainer.

Can't see any reason why Jenner and Hunch won't be absolute Tier 1. Also have a feeling that Orion and Highlander will be much better than anticipated.

Jenner IIC has the same body as the Jenner.

Hunchback IIC has more mass than hunchback, so, you can't shield just that one hunch anymore.

And then there's possible clan XL engine nerfs inbound...

Jenner IIC: More firepower and speed potential than ACH, but probably lower durability and no ECM.

Hunchback IIC: Higher mounts, more potential firepower than SCR, and JJs; but lower speed, agility, and potentially durability.

Orion IIC: Highest pod space potential of any Clan heavy (can beat some Clan assaults actually); but low hardpoint mounts, derpy mixed hardpoints, and somewhat lower speed/agility.

Highlander IIC: Second most firepower of any Clan assault, but also the second slowest and with not quite optimal mixed hardpoints.

Conclusion: Expect them to be effective, but don't expect them to surpass the current Golden Master Race optimized Omnis.

I don't own the Orion or the Highlander and I only pre-ordered up to the Hunchback level.

Kinda tempted to upgrade my package instead of doing the Rifleman (blasphemy I know) but after playing around with my Jager's most of the builds I want to do on the Rifleman variants I can do better already.

assuming my marauder successfully manages to pull my out of my minecraft addiction i am seriously looking forward to my iic hunch and jenner a couple weeks later. even if they turn out to be great i have a feeling i will be regretting my purchase for the rest of the year, that was most of my video game budget after all. shoulda blew it on elite dangerous instead.

Well i have the Jenner IIC, which should be ace, as its a more resilient, jumpy Oxide.
And the Hunchback IIC, which ill definitely try Dual AC20 to start with..cant wait.

What's wrong with the current Orions?

I do fine in them!

What if it suffers the same hitboxed problems? Would you still drive it?

It's just that I once thought Orions are ugly so I never bought them. Also, although they are similar to my Highlanders hardpoint-wise, they can't jump (which is why I bought HGNs at first).

We all know they will get some decent quirks for selling and then get nerfed within a month after selling for C-Bills.

Jenner hit-boxes will get another pass. Presumably reducing the expanded STs.

Much more concered about what happens to Oxide when IIC Prime comes out. Give me one scenario where an Oxide will outdo a IIC.

Of course, nobody from PGI has deigned to actually answer this apart from "We will do what we need to for balance". And that was from support.

The Jenner is still one of my favorites. I'm looking forward to that one, but I'm waiting to see how this huge balance patch and steam release go till I spend anything else on this game. Building a clan Oxide and a plain 4 ml Jenner would be sweet.
