Can We Get Longer 'mech Names?

I just realized how limited 'Mech names are. They're around 10 characters max, and have almost no special characters (commas, periods, colons, etc).
Could we get this changed?
Thoughts?
Thanks!

For example I wanted to call a mech "Double or Nothing" but all I can cram in is "2X or Nuttin"
Funny thing is, there are a bunch of named mechs from lore that you couldn't actually fit into our naming limits. Like "Lucky Thirteen".
Twelve characters just feels like too few, at least twenty would be nice for more flexibility in naming.

Heck. I'd like a nice solid 2^5 (32-bit compliant!) characters. I personally want to name my 2x Gauss Warhawk "Spear Of Justice".
I have a few others planned, but they're all longer than 12 characters. I really would love to see it extended.

Don't really name my mechs because I can't seem to fit much in there.

Yes, this!
As a player, I can never understand why I can't even name a mech "X ERLL Y ERML Z LRM5".
As a software engineer, I KNOW that every language and DBMS remotely worthy of the term can handle dynamic length strings, so there is no technical reason for any limit (apart from 2^32 / 4GB ranges or such).
Yet so much software has artificial limits for strings (some even for passwords, which is especially weird).
At least set it to 20 or 50 or so.

Things like 3xLPL 3xML XL340 wont fit, so i generally have to leave the engine size out, which is annoying.

I know it'd be a bit of work, but if they could fix that I know many of us would appreciate it.

Though why tonnage as the mechs are already separated by weight?
Anyway, using a hunch back 4p with all mediums, and an erppc cause why not
1: weight: s= scout m= medium h= heavy a= assault.
2: weapon range: s: less then 270m, m=271-500, l=500-1000, e= extreme, 1001+
3: secondary weapon range band. Same as 2
4: engine: s= standard, x=xl, l= light(if they ever bring in more equipment from a timeline jump)
5: max speed? Divide speed by 16.1, round down if .5 even. 275 engine would be 5, not 6
6:ecm/ams? N= no, a=ams, e=ecm b= both
7:armor: s= standard, f= ferro
8:hmmm. Let's add stock here: S= stock, C= customised, M=tryhard :3 (in case you have a serious version and a screw around one)
So the hatchback with a 275xl, erppc and medium lasers(med would be primary due to boating),ecm and obviously not stock and probably for S&G would be:
MMEX5BSC, M for last if you built off a meta build.
Stock 4P?
MM-SRNSS
At least something like that you could tell at a glance similar styled mechs. Could take the last line as primary weapon instead :L= lasers,p=ppc, b= ballistics, g= gauss, s= srm m=lrm
Then it'd be MMEX5BSL.
If your mech can hit 10+ speed(161 what's max speed limit atm?) stop breaking the game! Heh. Just put a 0 in the speed slot
Overly complex but basically works

As it is now, sometimes you just need to get creative. Here is a training video on how to condense names...
