Without really considering the varying models, in general which would be better for MWO?
Comparisons put them pretty much neck and neck in general, I'd like to hear if anyone has experience with MWO.
Beyond MWO, I play Battlefield 4, StarCraft 2 and Star Wars Battlefront.

This will turn into a fanboi vs fanboi thread super quick.
The 970&390 are both good cards for all the games you have listed.
If you have no intention to multi monitor or multi card the extra 4Gb of VRAM on the 390 is dead weight.
Go with whatever you can get the best deal/bundle on.
