As it is, it is very hard to use the in-game chat because it is almost completely useless.
1. It needs timestamps. Reports in chat are useless if we cannot see if there are still relevant. The same is true for ALL chats in this game. Add timestamps. If people dont like them, make it so they can disable them.
2. It needs to be split from kill reports. Kill reports should not spam the same area as where the chat is supposed to be. Put kill reports to the right, chat to the left, or the other way around.
3. VOIP needs a name history. Only the name of the one currently speaking is displayed AS HE IS SPEAKING. If you are busy at that moment you have no way to find out who said it. Make the notifications stack up and fade with a few seconds delay. I don't need that in my unit, but it would be helpful with quick launch and pug games.
4. Add an audio notification when someone says something. Not necessarily in-game, but definitely while in mechlab. Also when when we receive messages. A blinking micro button at the bottom of the screen is just not good enough for decent communication.
