Nobody else noticed the pointy nose on the Catapult? 1:35 into the video.

I love how it looks.

I will call it my maddy and I will pet it and take it places and it will be my maddy.

Thanks for reminding me again how big and squishy the Orion is. From a personal stance.

The Pult is ofcourse the worst offender.

That's a Founder's Catapult. They all have slightly different geo on them, kinda like the Resistance and Invasion 'Mechs.

There is a Cata, Jenner, Atlas and Hunchback. A rarity these days.l

From the side it does look a bit like a gherkin on a plinth:

I think the mech looks great, although it should be about 15% bigger overall..

That side profile is rather large, so it will be a bigger target when shot from the sides..

Hope the hitboxes are good..

What a joke. Catapult (65t) seems to be twice as heavy as the Marauder (75t). Can someone please compare the Marauder with Crab and Cicada?

Freaking tiny. Cool.

XL deathtrap, but that was obvious - all non humanoid mechs are XL deathtraps. Cant fit 3xAC5 or 2xUAC5 in that RT with an XL anyhow. It should be decent, glad i bought it. Hands down the best IS 75 tonner.

Yep, compared to the artwork, that's some big fat ***.

Besides that, the mech is tiny!
I mean, this doesn't look like a heavy mech at all. Ok, maybe from the side, but it's heigh and width are medium-like.

I would've liked a slightly bigger mech with a smaller back, like on the artwork, and bigger arms.
But I still like it.

To be fair, if it was proportioned closer to the original, the upper body would be 1/3 the length, terminating just after where the torso meets the hips, and the legs would be ginormous.

BUT, the thing to remember, is that it isn't the FASA Marauder, it's the BT:MWO Marauder based on Shimmering Swords art as to be original IP to MWO. What the big fat butt adds, is being original art.

I'm not SUPER huge into analyzing gameplay balance or anything, but another thing that the bubblebutt adds, is a place you can actually make hits on easily. It will reduce the MAD's ability to torso twist to spread damage, because it'll expose what looks to be the easiest spot on the mech to DO damage. If the side torso extends to that uncovered area, it will make XL MAD's have to either face tank by necessity or use standoff distance and cover.

Other fun thoughts, I wonder what the cockpit view will be? On the SARNA page, one of the BT quirks (uh oh, THAT word!!!) is that the MAD suffers from having a cramped cockpit The DEV's do pay attention to what's on SARNA, so it'll be interesting to see if that is reflected in the design, or if it sticks straight with the art.

....probably still look down to an atlas.... you know with how scaling goes these days... you left and right your mech is either really small...or really big... the in between mechs need some good scaling done. This thing is smaller then the black knight and orion..whose to bet when you pilot one youre gonna be staring at the said mechs at the same cockpit height

i like that the new mechs are coming smaller, but are they following lore sizes? if they re scale the older ones to match the new release will be great!

Also, people, remember, mass =/ size. You can have a block of steel of 2mt3 weight the same thing as 5 cars...

Well, gameplay-wise it's good to see that it is so small. But immersion-wise i would have liked a huge, bad looking MAD staring down at his prey better :D
