After the patch I tried several of my light mechs again and see how they’d fare now. Perhaps you can share your experience as well as an appetizer to try other lights. So far I have tried the following mechs:

Jenner:
Oxide – Seems more agile than before the patch, turns well and the SRM buff (if they register) did the mech much good. I really like to use it now.

Raven:

Huginn – To make it short: the mech is trash now. It never had a big alpha. It was a brawler which depended on high dps and agility. Now he has no DPS anymore and thanks to the limited hardpoints there are hardly any other builds possible. To add insult to injury: it feels even more sluggish with a higher engine than the Oxide.
As a special icing on the cake, it suffers like the Oxide from the poor SRM hitreg.
Suggestion: Increase the SRM4 CD again. Maybe not to its original value but close. Some minor agility boost wouldn't be overpowered either. After all this kind of Raven is high-risk, high-reward gameplay. Or at least it should be.

Raven-4X
I tried a build with 2 LPL and sniped. It did OKish. Nevertheless I prefer other lights for that task. Has anyone a build recommendation?

Raven-L
Seems to be in a good place like before. I think I like to snipe with it.

Wolfhound:
Seems to be in a good place. However, the Wolfhound-1 could use a slight deceleration quirk. When I tried to stop behind an enemy mech it took ages to slow to a stop…if there had been a cliff…but maybe it is just a thing of being not used to. Time will tell Posted Image

ACH:
The general speed nerf has hit that mech hard imo. However, it feels now more in line with other light mechs, which is a good thing in my book.

Snipped Reviews

Oxide: Interesting, I may dust it off for a few matches.
Huginn: It's SRM4 "machineguns" needed a slight nerf. Will test.
RVN4X: Sniper build you say? Glad it's nerfed.
RVN3L: Light Sniper builds are lame.
WLF: One of my favorites, will test.
ACH: Any nerf to this mech is good (and yes, I own one).

After fighting a few cheetah I have to agree. They seemed so slow and easy to chew through. I wasn't sure if it was the player or the mech.

I took my Commando 2D out and it felt really sluggish. It turned slowly and twisted poorly from what it used to do.

I couldn't get used to it really but I'm hoping that the other lights I haven't used yet feel better.

I think you won't regret it but it needs some time to get used to it again

Only played one match last night, in the ® Wolfhound.

Was definitely slower, offset enough by its slight structure increase that I could spread lasers out for the entire match. Put up 541 and 2 kills with 6 ML.

Will be doing more commandos when I get time to play some more, but they seemed to be in line with everything else during PTS. Only one I didn't run was the 2D, which I slot barely higher than the 1D because of the engine limit.

LCT: Ruined. Ruined beyond belief.

Nah, it's not that bad, but this mechs best selling point is gone. It moves with a bit of inertia now and is more sluggish than it once was. Gone are the days of dancing around assault mechs and staying in their rear firing arc. It's a different mech now, and it's one that I don't particularly like as much as a result. I'm sad, but I can't say that some kind of nerf wasn't needed for the 1E. I just wish they had nerfed the firepower and not the agility. The piloting was my favorite part of this game, and it was the reason I loved the Locust. Now, it's like any other old mech - just not that exciting anymore.

Also, it's more tanky. It doesn't get killed instantly anymore. So it's not nearly as fun to play. You can trade fire with heavy mechs, which just seems wrong to me. I don't like it.
