So we get huge SRM buffs and the Catapult get some buffs, too...

Will we see more splatcats now? I really hope so, to be true, even if that means we have to look at the vcr backyard mods it got.

So who has the best splatcat build? 6xASRM4, 6xASRM6, no artemis or some mix?

Ears are still huge and they don't have the bugged SRM damage, so...

I doubt it. As far as I know having your bay doors open grants higher internal crit damage or straight through or whatever it was, so without actually useful srms or bigger streak launchers its kind of a boned up mech.

Did they remove the ghost heat from SRM4/6s and make them register all the time again?

nope, just upped ghost heat to 4 launchers instead of 3. Maybe you can now alpha all 6 for a smaller penalty but who knows.

If they give it the resize, including the smaller ears from the old C1, and don't add the VCRs tacked on.... oh yes.

Well that would give me a reason to run my Atlas S anyway.

I've been doing OK with a streak cat the last few weeks.

It's not the size of the alpha, it's how you use it.

Even with all the nerdrage and **** posting on these forums, this pic made me lol the most.

Out of all the reasons they won't make a resurgence, this is the main one. Each launcher is now the size of a medium mech (like 1 Cicada hanging off each side). Until that is fixed, it just ain't worth it.

Plus, I still don't think I want to short range knife fight in a Catapult. Maybe old habbit die hard (pre-hitbox balancing), but I shutter at the thought honestly.

Even clan SRMs are still 2.5 tons for SRM-6 + artemis, at least 1 ton of ammo per launcher (if you are maining SRMs, you want at least 1.5 tons per launcher) with a slow ROF of 4 seconds. To top it off you still have one of the slowest projectile speeds in the game so good luck hitting moving targets past 100 meters (might be increased to 150 now after the buff) and the spread still means its useless at killing anything compared to boating lasers or ACs.

I tested the griffin and the atlas and they feel good with srms. If the cats get the reduced size and the old launchers i see possibilities to a viable splat cat.

Let the legend come true again.

You mean up to 90 damage PER SRM6 was a nice selling point? It does pale in comparison to the current 12.9 damage, and the half weight cSRMs for 0.9 less damage are a bit more tempting, on, say, the DoomCrow.

Just wait until you see it with the weapon door open...huge box, 5 tubes.

Run a 4x ASRM6 LPL Catapult. You avoid Ghost Heat with the boosted limit and you have a big gun for when your ears get knocked off.

I still run the splatcat on occasion. Looking forward to seeing how this patch effects it.

You take normal damage if they're open

Damage is reduced 10% if they're closed

>top dog shuts down infront of me
>less than 50m away
>hit him with 3 SRM-6 with artemis
>His exposed side torsos dont fall off
>hit him again
>still doesn't fall off

In two weeks time competitive players will still not be using SRMs so the buff has done absolutely nothing except to make SRMs slightly more viable for fooling around in the solo queue or when you are in a 12 man farming random newbies in CW.

They really just need to take the Normal missile boxes, and then just adjust the tub count inside. No clue why that was not done in the first place.. that said, My two cats i run, i run LRM 20's+a pair of streaks, that barely adds anything and it is to the inside of the Box.. the other i run Dual LRM15's, and they are just normal box size.. the issue comes when ya start taking on all sorts of SRM's, Or LRM'5s
