For the first time ever in 3 years, I mean since I play this game, and I always did in 3D by the way with everything maxed out (VERY HIGH), I've seen my FPS drop. I'm not talking about the slower refresh HUD but in general.
My video card is a GTX 660 Ti so don't say it's weak as it was perfect for the last 3 years playing at FULL HD 3D @ VERY HIGH details and suddenly following this patch that is supposed to improve FPS by 5-10 it does the opposite.

I agree, i noticed also a big frame drop. I dont know what it was but i think your right. I played everything on a stable 50fps now its more like 40 - 30. Also what bothers me is setting everything on low settings doesn't help much
. For me fps is king, especially in CW matches where good fps makes a different.

Try shutting their new fancy blinking lights off in the cockpit I regained the 30 frames I lost when I did that

I thought I wrote it in my original post but I see I didn't... I tried disabling new monitor animations and it makes no difference.

It doesn't help you but no difference here to pre-patch performance.

My FPS dropped by about 15 FPS in average times, and then I also had instances where, if someone shot me with lasers up close, my entire cockpit glowed white like the sun and my FPS dropped down into single digits

Turn you particles down. I've experience this slow down when accidentally shooting walls with lasers up close and creating a bunch of laggy particles
