I'm curious about the state of the Highlander. It and I have a trouble relationship. I buy it with high hopes of doing well get drunk & frustrated which leads to me selling it. Process has happened a few times lol. I know they're rarely played. I see one maybe two a month. Any feedback is appreciated.

Considering the 733P got Gauss and Ballistic quirks and hasn't been fixed yet and no one's even mentioning it I don't think many people care about it any more. I haven't even made it to messing with my assaults yet but I'm not in too much of a rush considering I will have to wait for that one to get fixed any way.

Part of the problem are the number of hardpoint, it seems to have about as many as a common medium/heavy mech. Mix that with a large chassis and it's easy to see that it doesn't quite add up. I have a feeling it will need similar tankiness treatment as the Atlas, combined with some added agility to make up for it.

Another part of the problem is that jump jets in this game, especially for heavy/assault mechs, just lift you so slow it's rarely worth using in combat. They've become only useful for climbing things.

It's basically where it used to be. After trying out like 10-15 different mechs to see what the new meta is like...

They're all basically where they used to be. There are some exceptions, here and there. Some mechs need to be used a different way, maybe. Reduced torso twisting ability makes it harder to be a one-armed bandit, for example. Overall though, I don't think there's a huge difference in how the Highlander works.

The only good news is that it's probably a more viable LRM boat now, after LRMs have been globally buffed. SRMs are better now too, but in the current meta, it's kind of hard for the Highlander with its terrible jump jets and 325 engine cap to get into position to use SRMs. And even when it does get into position, it's not very agile. Some major changes are needed before anyone is actually terrified to be charged by a Highlander. Also, nerfing gauss rifles hurts the Highlanders that can't run 2xUAC5 or AC20.

Figured the gauss nerf would hit it hard. Thanks for the feedback though. I feel it should get some kind of jump jet quirk though.
