Ya know, I think the actual monitor is a bit much. I think it takes up too much room and obscures too much of the battlefield view.

Maybe a simple numerical counter somewhere on the dashboard that can be 1/12th the size of the current monitor???

Thoughts???

I'd prefer arabic numerals to a McDonalds Cash Register, too.

And it's more versatile... what happens in CW when you get that 13th kill?

I suspect it would break in CW as currently constituted.

I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like. It looks more like a mech fossil from initial glance.

The size varies for each mech. Its pretty small on my enforcers.

I like that the monitors add some life to the cockpit. For me the kill counter is useless. I'm more of an assist player. So it rarely lights up for me Posted Image

Don't like the kill counter monitor at all. Those little atlas heads with crossed spanners or whatever those are... i dunno. Kinda feels like super mario with robots. Completely unfitting for the retro styled cockpits. Like somebody was tasked with filling as much of the screen as possible with 'something fancy' featuring one simple function...

Well, there would be a lot of place for assists if that screen was made with normal letters and numbers. Hell, there would also be a place for structures (turrets) and/or some other mock info.

Don't they just display it on an already present monitor ?

Just split the difference, have the skull that lights up / flashes on each kill, then have the numerical counter above it.

I consider it to be a free interactive cockpit item that I have installed in any mech I own..

I'd like to have the option to remove it from mine.

You can turn it off in your settings, Mr: oh, I don't read the patch notes because I'm too cool for school...

I honestly don't like the monitors very much. The gifs, apart from being duplicates of only 3 images, are too flashy and the animation flickers rapidly without making any sense at all. Who would have any chance of reading any info off of a monitor like that?

The IS monitors should have a discrete retro 80/90s screen look and be a lot calmer and at least look like they could be informative. The clan monitors could look more modern, but still should be simple and informative, not some hodgepodge mess of flashing numbers and stuff.

And a kill counter is probably the least immersive function possible to pick for the first real monitor info. What kind of real military vehicle, real or imagined, has a god damn kill counter? I mean I don't require some kind of hardcore realism in a goofy 80s sci-fi setting, but it should at least be somewhat believable within that setting.

You can only turn them ALL on or off in our settings Mr "I too smart to bother reading comprehension".
