[Champion of Khorne Lord of Blood]

So today I was stomping around and managed to meet an Atlas in battle while I was in an Ebon Jaguar, I had a stormcrow ally by my side, the location was Mining Collective.

I was running a brawling build of 6spls and 2lpls, I didn't catch what the crow was carrying, but did notice quite a few ERMLs. The Atlas was an AS7-S with a generic Atlas brawling build. After 2 alphas and a little help from my ally the Atlas's CT was exposed and yellow, the Atlas ran behind cover, the crow took another shot at him which left his ballistic ST open.

At this point Puglife made a return as I noticed that the Stormcrow and I were 2 of the approximately 4 people still alive on the team. The crow went down quick, I turned and saw the rest of the enemy team coming in quick but decided I'd go down with at least 1 kill for the team if I just went and finished off that Atlas that the Stormcrow failed to take out.

I moved in closer to the Atlas to single him out from the rest of the team due to the corner nearby while firing an alpha into his CT, I twisted right before the LPL ended and that took out his AC20 as I grazed over the ST. He fired a burst of SRMs at my weakened ST taking out my LPLs and most of my firepower right after I fired a second burst with the SPLs that had just finished their cool down.

His CT was dark orange by now, but I was down to 3 SPLs and his backup was closing in fast. I kept firing and firing at his CT, one burst, 2 bursts, three.... He was still standing. He ripped the armor right off of my CT with his SRMs while his team came up behind me cutting up my rear. I died trying desparately to get off just one more alpha.



Moral of the story: 100 ton IS assault mech brawling king now beats the pants off 65 ton Clan heavy.

I like where the Atlas is now, the fact that the mech has structure bonuses rather than armor really does lead to people thinking that it should have been dead, but it keeps on standing. Of course the AC20 does go pretty fast though once the armor is cracked, but the other side torso does manage to be quite adequate for dealing damage now.

Tis good the Atlas is making a comback but I have one pointer for u, go for the legs, that is where IS store ammo and they blow big when hit.
