After the disaster that is the Archer, and Stellaris getting a release date (it's a grand strategy space game), I was all set to cancel my Phoenix Hawk pre-order knowing I'd never use the mech and my MWO time would be greatly sliced into (not eliminated tho as I'm a pretty dedicated gamer and bounce between multiple games all the time).

Then I read that I get 25 extra lucky charms for said pre-order, so PGI basically bought themselves another week of holding on to my $20.

And hey, if they at least announce they're going to take another look at Archers, I might give them even more time :P

They will fix the Archer sooner or later.
Remember: some of the god kings of meta were once considered the worse mechs of the bunch... quirks can do miracles, and PGI loves to over-react. Posted Image

Yeah, Black Knights were pretty lame at release but are now a thing to be feared

But they don't need to overreact here. Just copy paste missile quirks from existing missile mechs, and then to get the durability copy paste Black Knight or Warhammer quirks. Tada! A durable long range missile mech like it should have been, but prolly still not a meta mech because LRM's :P

You do realize they might have have the recourse to reclaim the 25 grab bag items if you request a refund. They took back the 30 days early adopter premium when I refunded the Origins pack. So spend what you get, because you might lose it.

One reason why I'm not buying that pack right now. That, and I want to see what the April road map is going to be. If they don't address some long standing issues, then no sale.

Bought the base Kodiak pack. Even it it turns out to be a POS, I can sell them with all equipment for about 20 million. Add in 16 million in modules, 6.5 million cash, 30 days premium, 3 mech bays, and now 25 grab bag items...it was a deal at $20.

I wonder if Stellaris will be good and true to the genre like MOO games, or if it will be another abomination like Homeworld: Sands of Kharak, which is a disaster without tactical pause and not a Homeworld game. (Barf a little writing that)

If you've played Europa Universalis or Crusader Kings II, it's going to be more like those except using 4x space game play as it's Paradox and another of their grand strategy games.

As for pause, EU and CK2 are pausable real time meaning the game plays in real time but allows pausing any time you need to issue immediate commands.

Anyway, given that I've prolly played over 3k hours of the EU titles (already 500+ in EU4), and am just under 1k hours for CK2, I feel Paradox has totally earned my trust on pre-ordering their games :D

Can't really be compared, Stellaris by Paradox will be extremely complex and deep like every Paradox game, MOO was simple yet in depth, although there is obviously the new MOO game that is currently available as early acess

I was going to point this out but you beat me to it. They will more than likely retract those 25 items. I've read posts from people doing what you're talking about and that's what happened to them.

QFT

Other option is they may refuse the refund if you've used/spent the items from the grab bags that can't be taken back - e.g. premium time, consumables, GXP, etc.

Refunds are made on the basis of undelivered content. PGI might just argue that using the 25 grab bags available with the purchase constitutes "delivered content" thus refusing you the option of a refund. If the OP want's a refund just go ahead and do it, don't play with fire.

And then the Archers proceed to murder the opposition with SRM bombing due to durability quirks plus missile quirks, while ignoring LRMs altogether. ;)
