Double Structure is nice.
Which is nicer?

Energy range reduction
Energy duration removed
Energy heat gen decreased
the duration alone gave it nice pinpoint, also the mech was already crazy hot, now %10 hotter.

Correction: the biggest thing it lost was allllll of its duration. The duration quirk was what made this mech good pre-rebalance. And now it's gone. ='[

8 Energy hard points is also nice.

Yes and liek i said on the other bj thread, on a 8 energy chassis, that kind of quirks need to completly go.

All complaints about the BJ-1X (or any other similar mech) running too hot can be re-directed as complaints about medium lasers being too hot; they should be 3 heat.

Its now just meh....
LOL no it isn't, if you think the insane quirks it still has now are "just meh" then git gud.

Only if clan lasers get their reductions to TT values as well.

We tried that in closed beta very early on and it made medium lasers just too good. This was before we had double heat sinks. I'm not averse to throwing the change on the test server and seeing how it plays out though.

The Pre hotfix 1X had 20% less Laser heat, right?
So, 3.2 heat.
I think that was a good number for a 270M range weapon...though perhaps not a 350M one.

Buy Mechs based on the Mech.
That way you're never disappointed by having quirks, because it made the Mech better than it was supposed to be in the first place.

So maybe now you'll have to sacrifice something between speed, armor, and damage output, instead of having all 3 as a given, eh?
Don't worry though, last night I already created a new BJ meta for you to crutch on:

The duration reduction was 10% of .9 seconds. It reduces the ML to a .81 second burn instead of .9, Hardly worth mentioning.
Heat Gen was reduced only 5% from 15% to 10%. So .2 heat per ML. Or 1.2 heat per 6 ML. again a *minimal* nerf.
Range was reduced from 20% to 10%, changing it from 324/648 ML range to 297/594. 50 Meter range is something to notice.

Nope, the duration quirk is mostly unnoticed if the look at the actual time value and not worth mentioning.
So again, the only thing it really lost was range.

Laser duration was actually 15%, which reduced burn to 0.765 seconds. Burn duration less than 0.8 becomes increasingly less noticeable, but burn duration over 0.8 becomes increasingly more noticeable. Moreover, at 0.9 seconds the IS ML is only dealing ~5.56 damage per tick while the Clan ERML is dealing ~6.09. You have to hanve the IS ML burn at a minimum of ~0.82 seconds to match that, which is close to a 10% duration reduction.
The duration change is significant.
The rest, though, is rather immaterial. BJ-1X moves so fast that it will take you all of three steps to make up the 27 meter optimum range deficit. The heat change is unnoticeable for me, and I run it on a slightly less optimized platform with a STD 280 and 14 DHS.
