I am thinking of swapping the SSD, Corsair Neutron GTX 512gb, from my laptop to my desktop. Problem is my desktop is a I7-950, 3.5ghz, Windows 7 and a EVGA X58 FTW MB. I know I have the 2 SATA3 ports, but have read they don't work very good and can actually be slower than the SATA2 ports on X58. Also I have heard Windows 7 doesn't offer TRIM support. Can someone help clear this up for me. I'm usually pretty good with computers, but due to work/life stuff, haven't been able to keep up on stuff like I used to.
My rig runs the game just fine on high settings 1080p, but always wondered if a SSD would help things. It will be my last upgrade on this desktop before a CPU change. I don't want to make the swap if it isn't going to run as it should and possibly without TRIM support.
Thanks,
