Even if you win against zerg rushes (IS or Clan) they somehow leave a foul taste. It is simply not fun to shoot enemies who do not even try to fight back. Especially if you had to wait 20+ min. to finally get a match on Tukayyid.
Meatshielding the generators protecting omega (aka parking at least one big mech in front of the hole in the generator shield) proved to be a pretty good way to protect the generators and and encourage the zerging players to at least shoot at a few mechs.
So why not make this a game component? Give the three generators protecting omega an additional movable shield that closes the hole in the generator shield, as long as at least one defending mech is within - let's say - 50m range around the generator. So the attackers must fight at least some mechs to destroy the generators - unless the defending team leaves their generators unguarded of course.
