It really shows how many people loved the Battletech Universe and also how many people were salivating over the idea of an updated, online Mechwarrior game. I know I missed my old MW and Battletech 2 days.
We all have high expectations and hopefully with the show of support being given like this, it further encourages those working on the game to keep the fire lit since they have quite a large number of supporters backing them and cheering them on.
Damn straight. Although I can guarantee that there are plenty who just wanted to either support the cause or are entirely new- a good proportion are vets or have at least got that little kindled flame that's been on hold since MW and BT were done "properly" (read- not Mechassault. No rage, chaps- let's face it, it wasn't the best).
Personally I'm all for MWO- it's being done "by the book" in terms of the Devs trying to adhere to the "rulebook" of lore and such, so I'm a happy pilot. The gorgeous modern visuals are a huge perk, but what we're all after is some good games and a community that we can all find our own place in.
If I had a flag, I'd be waving it for the Devs- we all showed our love by stumping for the Founder's packs- some for the added nice things, others because we just want this to work and are supporting the cause.
.....And some, just want the shiny, shiny logo and a place in the Founder's list in the credits.
You know who you are, fame seekers.
No red carpet for you.

I also wanted to add I didn't play the board game only played mw1 and mw3. I just love mech games, and bought founders to support a Canadian company. As a computer programmer myself I love supporting fellow Canadian programmers.
