I participated in the latest Battle of Tukayyid to see if it would make me want to play in CW again (And that sweet sweet sapphire paint). I'm T4 because I am a casual player, which is fine with me. However, the biggest thing that happened to me in CW that made me frustrated was getting farmed.

I knew I was going to go against premades. I knew there would be games where I got stomped into the ground. The most discouraging and frustrating part was when the game would purposely get delayed to farm my team. The opposing team did it to pad their scores and get higher rewards.

Example: -MS- did a great job being #1 Clan Wolf, and at one point I dropped against 10 of them. I knew I was going to get stomped on. They could have won the match in under 10 minutes. Instead of winning in under 10 minutes, it was drawn out over the course of the entire match length of 30 minutes. They did it because the game doesn't do a good job discouraging it (Dropship lasers can only do so much), and because that's how the game is currently designed to be played. -MS- weren't bad sports about it. They simply played the game efficiently, and that's what a high end Unit does. Props to -MS-.

Why did we get farmed? It boils down to two big things.

1) Cbills, XP, and LP are granted through combat maneuvers. If you're actively killing something, you get a reward.
2) Match Score is granted through combat maneuvers. If you're actively participating, you get a reward.

There's nothing rewarding about finishing a CW match early. In fact, you're penalized by it. By finishing the match early you're reducing your potential income of every redeemable point type. If you finish a match in 10 minutes, all it means is that you've missed out on 20 minutes of earning stuff. You want to delay the game as long as possible to maximize your rewards. It feels good to see 1mil+ Cbills and a ton of LP in a Match Stats recap screen.

But what was lost during this? The play experience of those getting farmed. It's demoralizing. It's not fun. It's not rewarding. You get to sit there for 15-20 minutes, watching people die on 30 second rotating timers, and you get no rewards for it. You aren't actively killing something because you blow up in 3 seconds from landing, so you don't get cbills, XP, or LP. In the meantime, negative emotions are running high, the team starts yelling at each other, and what little cohesion there could have been to at least try and survive the match evaporates.

How do we fix it? We need to get rewarded for ending the match early. We need to compensate for the rewards that are being missed out on. My suggestion is (numbers heavily open for debate) the winning team receives an extra 5% Cbill, XP, and LP for each 30 seconds before the end of the match timer. This way the faster they complete it, the more rewards they get multiplied off the less time they've performed the combat maneuvers to earn said points.

Example: Team A is 12 pugs who don't use voice chat. Team B is a highly coordinated unit 12 man drop. This game is going to be a steamroll. In this example, Team B is attacking or counter-attacking.

Team B rolls Team A in the first wave and gets some objectives. Team B's first wave of mechs is destroyed. Team B then finishes off the remaining objectives and the match with their second wave of mechs. Quick win.

Total match time? We'll say 13:37. So, Team B would get 16 minutes (rounded down) worth of Quick Complete bonus. 16 minutes @ 5% / 30s = +160% bonus Cbill, XP, LP.

Also, this works for offense or defense. Whoever finishes the match early gets rewards. That way the winning team still gets their massive winnings, and they don't waste 16 minutes more farming out the kills. That's 16 minutes of no griefing, no frustration, no building resentment, and lastly, no time wasted in lengthening the queues. That's 16 minutes that 24 more players are back in queue. Might even help with a population problem in CW if it exists. Could even have the Lore fluff with "Congrats, you've impressed us with your decisive action against [faction]. Here's more Cbills and LP"

TL;DR - reward quick matches based on time remaining

edit: fixed capitalization in title
