I don't want to talk about the quality of the video (obviously)

I just have one question: What is the explosion at the end of the combat scene? A new airstrike?? Fusion reactor explosion?

At 3:40

Oo I hope its not only something done for the video. It looks freaking awesome.

EDIT: Found it: https://twitter.com/...021195226386432 Thanks Tractor Joe!

I think you're getting ahead of yourself there. I'm pretty sure it's off-map called-in artillery, not the mountable version. I doubt we'll ever see a mech-portable version of artillery.

if possible, the faster i can run means more map area i can fire the long tom in and yeah russ said it was something scouts can "call in" so i know it won't be an option to mount but if it ever is my above statement stands. did you notice it started out with "if they allow it as mountable"?

It was the blood and tears of baby seals igniting as their souls are commended to the nine circles of MercStar Community Warfare.

Assuming things work the way they were proposed initially, the Long Tom should be unlocked as the third level of Recon. 4v4 Recon drops will grant a side points toward 3 levels of unlocks. The first unlock will be knowledge of the enemy drop composition (presumably listing their current mechs on the scoreboard). The second will be satellite sweeps, periodically revealing all the enemies on the map to your sensors. The third and final one will be off-map Long Tom strikes that follow each sensor sweep, targeting clusters of enemies revealed by the satellite.

These unlocks will be dynamic, meaning Recon drops can unlock stuff for in-progress Invasion and Counter Attack drops.

Man, I cannot wait for 4v4 to go live.

I know, I'm just taking out my repressed slight bitterness over the negligible likelihood we'll ever get to see some of the more 'exotic' weapon systems and/or ammunition in this game on you. Don't mind me, it's not your fault you're wildly optimistic.

Those space ships are either what's called Jumpships or Warships, and the 'tiny things' are indeed leopard dropships from the look of it. Jumpships and Warships are what are used for long distance FTL travel. Jumpships usually stay well away from combat and in the rules of engagement are generally considered 'off limits' by IS forces.

Yes, that was supposed to be a Jumpship launching a compliment of Leopard Dropships.

Thing is though, that freaking Jumpship was bigger than even the biggest Jumpship or Warship there ever was in the TROs.

A Town Hall last month? Maybe? It was something like that.

4v4 is what this game has needed since Closed Beta. I'd not say no to 8v8 returning in some form or other, too, but 4v4 will be huge.
