Mirror Mirror On The Wall...which Is The Fairest Unseen Of Them All?

-Rifleman, the 60 ton ancestor to the Jagermech, which may win the hitbox lottery of the two
-Archer a 70 ton LRM support mech, one of the oldest, most reliable and toughest mechs in the IS.
-Warhammer. Long considered the ultimate Heavy Mech. Versatile and deadly.
-Marauder. Once considered the pinnacle of mech development and the forebear of the Timberwolf. 75 tons of pure insectile menace.
Which do you think is the best translation from original source art, to modern MWO concept? Why?
Nope, not concerned with who is or is not the best "meta mech", this is about pure, vain, eye candy.
For me, I rather like the Rifleman, but the lasers in the arms throw me a bit. The Warhammer is my favorite mech of all time in Battletech. But I got to admit, the elbows down on the arms are a little...off. The Marauder? Where do I start? It' looks like Shimmering Sword's concept and a King Crab had a baby. mind you, it could have been salvaged..
......but nope, we got Humpty Dumpty made into a battlemech.
For me? It's all about that Archer. One of Alex's best translations in a long time. I might have preferred beefier fists (alex has a thing for small hands and feet, usually) but it's a minor beef. Maybe detracts half a point. So it only gets 9.5 out of 10 for catching that Unseen feeling.
Howzabout you?

I was hoping for the Phoenix Hawk next

The Marauder deviated too far from the original insectile form, and it's too much like a 'MWO Mech' if that makes sense. It was always my favourite mech, but the MWO version has too little leg and too much body, plus the arms are derpy.
Still, I'm happy we get any of them at all.

Do those bays open further or are these lrm's going to blast them away.
depending on what happens to the NVA rescale I may buy a marauder, because its the only so far with chickenlegs and arms.

I vote Rifleman. It looks cool.

I do like how close to the original the Archer looks. Easily the best-looking of the "Classic" releases.

I wish all mechs with elbow joints could let their arms hang down for a tiny speed boost or hill climb boost or something. And then extend their arms for sniping over hills too.
Still, I'd have to say:
Archer > Marauder > Rifleman > Warhammer

The marauder... I like it, but I don't love it. Dunno what I'd like to see different, but it just doesn't really work for me. I do like the predatory look it has, though.
The archer. I didn't really know anything about the archer before this, its a black box for me. It's got a cool tough, beefy look, but I'm concerned as Alister Winter says above it'll look ridiculous once its arms are all up and its in its pooping stance. Dunno.
But I'm really waiting for the Phoenix Hawk. That's got my name all over it.

The original is just...yuk...
The Rifleman is another good interpretation (runner up).
As for closest to source, that is probably the Archer with the Warhammer close. Rifleman looks visually more intertesting while the Warhammer looks a bit more plain and generic IMO.
I'll say overall I'd rank...
Marauder>Archer>Rifleman>Warhammer
P.S. I am biased to chicken-walker style mechs (non-humanoid) so that probably played a part a bit in my ranking

But really, I think they are all really well done. The Marauder obviously doesn't look very much like the original, but hey, the original does not fit with MWO's style at all.
