And two thirds will be alt accounts trying to seal club nubs.

this'll be fun.

Pretty pathetic if someone has to create an alternate account to go beat up on clueless new players to get your rocks off. Speaks volumes of their character and personal skill level. Why don't they come drop against myself and some friends. We'll kick you around a little bit and see how they like it. Then we will make fun of you, berate you for being bad and try our best to sabotage your gaming experience. Let's see how they like that.

What a pathetic excuse for a gamer.

Keep those T5 newbies away from me! If I play with them, my skill will erode. Posted Image

Um... it takes literally 1 game to go from T5 to T4.

Just putting that out there.

But chances are most of the new players won't be as extremely dedicated to playing MW:O as the rest of the veteran MW:O playerbase.

Well with any luck PGI will have for some miraculous reason realized that this is what is going to happen and start putting bans on people who create alt accounts to run in T5/exploit the noobs mode.

Actually, I'm debating on creating an alternative account just so I can get the same experience as incoming players. Not to "seal club", but rather to put myself on the same level, since I'm tier 3 and will play with them anyways, might as well start out in the same boat/mechs.

LOL enjoy the trial mechs you get to use in a fresh account without any xp skillups. Or dump cash into a fresh account and then they got ya!

Exactly why players doing this should get a few weeks off.

I honestly doubt we will even see much of a bump in new players today. Maybe over the weekend, but I kind of expect this launch to be pretty anemic.

Personally, I can only see a few reasons for alt accounts ...

1) You are a role player and think it is blasphemous to have clan and IS mechs on the same account. Clan vat babies would never associate with freebirth scum so how can you have mechs from both sides on the same account? :)

2) More practically, you want to take advantage of the tutorial and cadet bonuses multiple times so you have one account for each mech you want to own. You write it down and perhaps use sequentially numbered IDs and email addresses to keep it all straight in your head. When you have decided what mech you want to play that day, that decides which account you log into :). This is complicated, onerous and inconvenient but maximizes the "free" aspect of free to play. However, you are unlikely to ever have enough mechs in one account to participate in faction warfare. Cbills will accumulate differently in each account and you will be unable to share engines and modules (which I personally swap out all the time).

3) Someone somehow thinks that the game is more fun for newbies (which would be great!) or perhaps more likely they are some sort of twisted personality that enjoys griefing ... its odd how online games can bring out these sorts of folks.

And how do you propose PGI match a single person to multiple accounts, especially someone who uses VPNs?

Give the clanners the unwashed masses.

Honestly, if this goes like every other MW launch in the history of the MW series, the clans are about to be hating life. So will Davion and Steiner. Sorry guys, you're typically the popular ones form lore and the ones that get flooded. :D

With the price point to get some clan mechs as high as it is, the fedsuns will take in the bulk of the unwashed masses.

Yay.

your seal-fu is weak. If you were a true clubber, you wouldn't be in Tier 3 after a year ;)
