Yea cos its not like we have fast clan mechs that could vomit 70+pts of pinpoint damage in the game now.

the 6ppc stalker was mega fun. I feel sorry for you if you didn't enjoy it. Some of my best memories are of 2013 MWO 6ppc stalker and ac 40 cat.

Back when the game was more pure.

Ghost heat is like diluting a good whiskey with water.

Don't you still get 2 shots with your PPC, one shot kills anything dire? What are you complaining about?

OP: Try out other mechs. Driving a light is like an entire different game than driving an assault. That's the beauty of MWO, no matter what your style is, you have a part to play. I do wish it had more depth, but for what it is it's great.

Nah it just doesn't have the same feel. There was something special about the 6ppc stalker. It was like magic. Abra kadabra, and POOF mech goes away.

Honestly you have most clan mechs laser vomiting you now anyway. If you go out in the open you go poof just as fast. The 6ppc stalker was just a good flavour of mech.

The dire actually requires persistent effort. Try it its pretty tough to play well imo. Requires lots of concentration. I just got burned out over it.

Its called being OP...not magic.

Magic would be if it had only a normal loadout and mech went poof like you had 6 er ppcs. If a mech can melt any other opponent but cannot be melted it self something is very, very wrong.

It was magic to you because it was an i win easy button and you had a lot of fun behind the wheel, im sure others didnt share your fun or it would still be here.

Shooty Stompy Robots is the general reason to keep playing.

If you don't like Shooty Stompy Robots, no real reason to stick around. There isn't much else to the game.

In such type of games you have to entertain yourself most of the time.
Try to roleplay a little, choose your favorite faction, play only on mechs related to this faction (plus maybe read few BT books, watch the Animated Series). Dont go for meta, use maximum diversity for your loadouts. And play for fun, not goal. Because such games do not have it.
And hopefully, sometime in future CW will be more entertaining, with lore units and other promised stuff. And you will be ready for it.
At least this is what keeps me playing.

Been doing a lot of C-UAC and SRM builds lately, something I hadn't done much of in the past. Was on a PPC/Flamer kick before that but match scores were brutal (LOL!) and was only running Ravens on an alt account a month or so ago. Mixing up your builds and ignoring the meta outside of CW is a surefire way to have more fun.
As a bonus, it makes you a lot better at the game because of the extra attention you have to pay in order to get a high match score.

I'm just staying away until the Steam settles :P
That and the mobility changes from last patch are pissing me off.

Might play a little if there is a Christmas event, but been mostly sticking to Kerbal Space program and other things I've neglected.

Got my Whammy inbound early January, will probably pick up again there.

Put as many machine guns as you can on a Nova.

Then put as many flamers as you can on a Nova.

Collect all the mechs, collect all the modules, put a big ******* XL in everything that needs it. Win Pokemech, THEN you can stop playing.

I play for fun. I don't need a damn skinner box of constant tiny improvements to have fun.

only have a stalker and flamer given by Pgi......

I was already going to mention the problem with customization and hard points, but if you really have 500,000xp and one mech, then you made the argument better than I ever could. Variety is the spice of life. PGI definition of variety is new skins (the difference between chassis is minimalized due to hardpoint inflation and customization options, in a game based primarily on collectability, PGI has done a terrible job of keeping chassis unique).

Just stop playing. There's no obligation. It's a free to play game. I take breaks often. I just don't tell anyone, even the unit I'm in, which in retrospect is a d-move on my part. >.>

Thats always the reason I leave MWO until a new mech I like gets released...

I don't understand how someone could get bored with MWO; there're so many Mechs! I've been playing since Closed Beta and still have only really, thoroughly explored about half of them!

They killed mech personality with ghost heat. My personality is 6ppc stalkers. 12er peep direwolves.

The more they do this the more All mechs are the same with difference skins. I honestly never had a problem with troll buildsthe 6 ppc stalker. It was hilaroious and awesome and even with no ghost heat was always troll.

I loved them too, they shutdown so fast and you could totally waddle behind them and kill them in like a volley.

Oh, I dislike those Clan builds too. I'm sure you had fun, but I got little enjoyment out of either end of a 6PPC insta-gib. I'm sure very few of your opponents were overjoyed either.

The problem wasn't the mech or the build...it was PGI's stubborn refusal to stop enabling pinpoint damage (i.e. give every weapon an aimpoint vice every simultaneous weapon the same exact point)...and they still refuse to fix this issue that has existed since closed beta and continue to apply bandaid after bandaid...

Its not a problem, its a feature. That's why theres the weapons convergence perk. I personally won't like it if weapons all aim at different spots just like in TT. Wheres the skill in that? PGI did an ingenious job with introducing laser burn time so the damage spreads around just like in TT without taking away the skill for it. Thats a phenomenal idea and I praise whoever came up with it. None of the previous MW titles did it as well as PGI did.
