You know, there's a few comments of animosity and snark in this thread, so far, but I don't understand why. You're watching other people throw a party.

People can't stand other people having fun when they are salty about not getting what they want? We are on teh MWO forums after all... Posted Image Posted Image

Edit: Love the content announced. New CW updates look sweet and decals.. ..finally! :P

Looks like a mix of Awesome, Warhammer and (specially) Battlemaster. Could it be a hint for an incoming mech? Like... Devastator?

No...it's just a Warhammer.

Go to the Warhammer preorder page.

Look back at the imgur images.

It is a Warhammer and only a Warhammer.

The arms are very different from the PGI's Warhammer. Also, the torso is fuller and legs are much beefier.
You can see it is too well done for these differents to be accidental. That's why I guessed it could be a new mech.

BTW, here are the announcements made by Russ at the party!

Not really, they're just not raised or flexed at all. They're in a neutral position. Those shoulders are identical. The forearms aren't 1:1 identical but this is also a 3D sculpture made out of *ice*, not an in-game model (and those typically differ in final geometry slightly from the art, regardless).

Comparison side by side:

But yes, it could be beefier because it is an ice statue.

Never mind the big dead-giveaway Warhammer shoulder launcher and the fact that the legs *are* roughly identical to the WHM art.

You're extrapolating details that aren't there onto a transparent sculpture that's a bit hard to make all the details out on. Shape-wise, though, and from the details where there's enough background contrast to tell for sure, it's a Warhammer.

Edit: That last paragraph was very poorly worded. Just trying to say that it being transparent makes some of the details hard to make out and it's easy to see something else in those hard-to-make-out details.

That all aside, though, it would be great to see the Devastator, though I highly doubt PGI will give the IS yet another 100-tonner when the clans only have 4 assaults of any weight and only one of them is reasonably good.

I spent 3 hours watching this, with the promise of a chance for a prize. I saw nothing in that area. BB was wasted, and Russ had a great speech, but no prize chance for me. Why?

Early on BB said if you made a post in the twitch feed you would get 200 MC.

That decal presentation looks really rubbish. So ugly low performance with just one projection and baking few pixels to bitmap texture. I can't wonder why mwo has so closed and simple game environment. Far Cry sucks b.lls. Posted Image

Dont jump to conclusions, as we dont know if that was the final stage. For the record i thought it was going to be something much simpler, but it looks alright.

I don't conclude. I just can see so simple operation which can run on very low specced gpu and here it was ugly slow. Without that pgi until now didn't raise up the resolution of casted shadow in the mechlab, etc. .. etc. ...
Simply: amateur work.

Of course we shall see but as in case of many ugly bad "features" or bugs(for example really horrible terrain or environment collision system) pgi don't care even it influences majorily the playability of the game.

Thank you, good sir, for putting those up.

Honestly I think the decal system looks incredible. I think most of us were expecting two or three fixed locations per mech that decals would appear, with little to no changing in size and color. What we're getting is leagues beyond that.

Also, yeah, it was definitely a Warhammer. They just can't put little skinny bits on ice sculptures or they'll just snap off early on as they begin to melt.

Was there as well. "Backpack guy" ;) anyways, for the record for everyone wondering why CW3 took so long? Russ kept adding stuff to it :D twice as big as the last two phases COMBINED.
