I think there is a 1000+ damage club thread in another section of the forums. Can't remember where. Congrats. :)

Good for you, but this has nothing to do in the "New players help"...

You can be as happy as you want in this thread :)

I've been there a few times, but almost always with "joke" or "heresy" (meta says it'd never work and yet it does) builds. Never have I been able to achieve it using "serious" or meta builds. In the end, unless you killed at least 8 mechs yourself, to get that much damage means you aren't being terribly efficient.

and one shown below with another's score at the beginning with the same build. Commands team, leads charge, takes out enemies systematically, takes out final enemy with nothing more than 3 lasers left. (Skip to 6 minutes after intro unless learning the battlegrid map icons is of interest.)

Personally, I don't find being efficient to be terribly fun. So I'll be as in-efficient as I want so long as I still contribute more than I hinder and I'll be laughing all the way.

As Dann here suggests, please tell your story, share some info on the build (at least armament), map, foes, and more importantly what was your strategy?

I'll keep it brief since technically it's not the right forum (I posted the screen shot in the 1000+ club forum)

Was fiddling with my MAD-5D. (Okay, it's not a super sexy build or anything impressive but I had fun messing with it) I still prefer my 3R but I wanted to see if the 5D was viable. Guess so.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6f836ffd0ba6c82

It was a river city skirmish. I spent a few hours watching youtube tactic vids... trying to pick up what I am not doing right, could do more of, less of, etc. The biggest tactic change I did in this game especially was Patience, took time to look for, and get in good positioning. Kept moving, stuck to the "never peek more than once or twice" rule (I used to break this all the time). Oh, and focused on knowing when to disengage... instead of sticking to a target even when the trade isn't going well.

The other big change I made tactically was I notice a lot of you experienced guys target, take the shot and immediately twist away. I used to twist once I began taking fire which meant the first few shots land CT, etc.
Also, added a JJ.. never used them before, instead I immediately drop them for the space but found that they are ridiculously handy.. I know, I've been a bit daft ignoring them, eh?

Anyway, really wish I had a video of that match.. everything about it "felt right" and was just a smooth, exciting match. Posted Image How do you guys take those match videos anyway?

Congrats
Pugs makes it much more impressive imho. You didn't burn 4 mechs to get it.
